We have also implemented very thorough cleaning protocols that our staff members strictly adhere to for each and every patient.

We are happy to announce that we have reopened our office to all patients, effective June 1, 2020!

Virginia Adult and Pediatric Ophthalmology is committed to safeguarding the health of our patients and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are currently utilizing the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Virginia Health Department and from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) to help us navigate through this unprecedented period.

As a part of our commitment to high quality eye care and patient safety, we are implementing the following new policies and safeguards:

*All patients will be asked a series of COVID 19 screening questions when scheduling an appointment.
*All patients will be asked to check in for their appointment by calling the office from the parking lot upon arrival. We will be collecting copays and other fees via phone.
*For adult patients, we ask that you come into the office alone unless you require assistance. For pediatric patients, only one person may accompany the patient inside the office, please no siblings.
*All patients who enter the office must wear a face mask. Face masks are also mandatory for all employees. This is our policy to protect the health of our patients and staff.
*All patients will have their temperatures taken upon arrival.
*Employee temperatures will be checked daily
*We have installed clear protective screens for our front desk stations
*All of our staff will be provided appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment)
*We have adjusted workflows to allow for spatial distancing within the office and a lot more time for your visit.
*Enhanced cleaning procedures and an increased frequency of cleaning have been implemented for the entire office. This includes cleaning each exam room before and after each patient is seen.
*We are not seeing those sick with fever, cough, respiratory symptoms or exposure to COVID-19. Please contact your primary care doctor, local health department or nearest emergency department for proper testing and treatment.
*We continue to offer tele-health visits if needed or preferred. These visits are billable to your insurance, just like an in-office visit.
