We are so sad to announce that one of the three people that was shot and killed at Bryant’s landing, last weekend, was our dear friend and former co-worker, Chiquita (Kita) Ewing. It is so hard to believe what happened to her, and so senseless as well. Our hearts are all broken. Kita was such a bright shining light with a heart of gold. She was the person, that anyone would love to be their neighbor. Even if she wasn’t your neighbor, she went out of her way to help anyone in need. She would go to the grocery store for some of our customers, and put their groceries up… on her own time. She would take people to doctor’s appointments, or for outpatient procedures… All from the heart and not for money. She touched so many lives and brought a smile to anyone she came in contact with- her beautiful smile was contagious.
Heaven is truly shining brighter with gaining another precious Angel… but our community lost one. All who knew her will have an empty place in their heart’s that only she could fill. I, personally, have known Chiquita since she was a little bitty girl, toddler size… & and she has always had that joyous spirit & bright real smile. Our community has truly lost one of those people that are rare to find these days in a world of hate, bitterness, cruelty and where so many have the attitude of “it’s all about them”. Kita made a positive difference.

Meet my grandson, Harrison Deason. Harrison is graduating this week from Ruston High School in Ruston, La! He has already signed to go into the U.S. Army in July! We are so verry proud of him! Congratulations to Private Harrison Deason and the Class of 2024! Love ya’ to the moon & back many, many times!

My heart is feeling very full, and glowing with gratitude after reading all my Birthday Messages & Texts, phone messages, phone calls and my sweet, thoughtful Ken… that I received yesterday.
Thank you to everyone who made my day extra special! I feel truly blessed to have so many to take time out of their busy lives-to think of me and it means more than I could ever say. Ladies, as most all know, don’t talk about their age much… but I am going to say this-turning “65” Sounds REALLY Old when it’s me!!!
But I was reminded by my sweet lil sister, that it’s “only a number”!
And she’s right! I don’t think of myself as 65… can’t say my aches & pains here & there don’t feel every bit of but that’s part of life. It’s not the presents, although they are awesome too.. but I am so truly blessed for each day God gives me & to know He put everyone of you in my life,one way or another.. And That is the most wonderful gift of all….
So here’s a Big THANK YOU & I LOVE YOU to My Family & to ALL My Friends,both Old & New, and to the precious man that God brought into my life, Ken. 🤗😘🥰
