You may be a family member who has to take care of someone full-time due to illness, dementia or the difficulties that often come with aging. Each instance involves its own set of challenges, and our caregivers are more than capable of handling these unique situations. Your loved one deserves more than having someone who simply keeps them company. They deserve a caregiver who is passionate about c

reating meaningful relationships and motivated to do more. Our caregivers will take on all the tasks that must be done – cooking, laundry, cleaning, help with bathing and mobility. We listen more intently, care more passionately and laugh more heartily. We provide comfort, companionship and compassion for any adult who needs the services of a caregiver. We do more than make a meal or help with mobility. For us, it’s about establishing a strong relationship built on trust and friendship. We would love to help or simply explain how this service works. You can reach our office at 562-384-5370. Our office is in Cerritos, and we serve the entire Greater Cerritos region and surrounding areas. HCO License #194700891

Independence looks different for everyone.

For Deborah, it’s sharing a meal at home with help from her caregiver, Cindy, who knows her routines, preferences and what makes her feel seen.

This Father’s Day, we thought it appropriate to highlight our “Godfather of the West Coast,” Mark Paretchan, owner of FirstLight locations in Marin County and Sonoma County. Mark got his nickname because of his love for mentoring others, and one of his most notable mentees is his son – and VP, Assistant General Manager – Charlie.

Mark, what’s one unexpected thing you’ve learned about Charlie while working together?
“I have learned to be more patient and am excited about the future of our family business because of his efforts. We spend a lot more time together and I am impressed with his abilities in the operational side of our company.”

Thanks, Mark and Charlie, for showing us that fathers and sons can discover new things about each other at any age.

You’re probably aware of what Alzheimer’s Disease is, but how does it change the brain, exactly?

Alzheimer’s slowly damages the connections that help us think and remember. Then, plaque builds up and cells tangle, affecting memory centers first and then spreading to impaired thinking, behavior and bodily functions later.

So, if your loved one is dealing with this disease, this is why you may notice memory loss first, then she changes in everyday behavior over time. Take a closer look at how Alzheimer’s affects the brain here: https://www.alz.org/alzheimers-dementia/what-is-alzheimers/brain-tour-part-2
