Our mission is to teach, students how to use the 8 limb path of Yoga to build connection to our body/mind so that trust in the voice of our spirit/soul is revealed. We believe that our connection to both our body/mind and spirit/soul is the foundation for wholeness and wellness. Join us for group classes that teach this philosophy of balance and wholeness within and without. For students done putting their spirit last, done taking all the blame and responsibility for how others feel, done with letting their fear of rejection keep them from sharing their wholeness we also have private sessions, 16 week on line self study, and 26 week 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with Danielle available. Classes and study are for students committed to self study, and believe that the greatest service we can give to our relationships with others and our community is to create a foundation of love to our infinite spirit. Building a personal yoga practice is not just about understanding the asanas—but it is the asana that gives us a place to wrestle with the journey of self-discovery and inner acceptance. Building a Home For Spirit is a program that gives you a step wise approach to learning how to build a relationship with yourself and your body through the practice of Yoga. The steps go like this:
1. Be in Your Body. Foundations of Asana and Breath teach us how.
2. Clear and Create Space. The practice of linking movement to breath is the vehicle for clearing.
3. Reading the Road Map of the Body. With clearing and creating space comes room for new awareness of the symbolic language.
4. Foundation of Journaling. With reflection comes the ability to see patterns, how things are connected, how you are connected.
5. Rebuilding the Home. When we see differently, we can do differently shifting patterns from doubt to trust, fear to courage, silence to expression, lost to found.
6. Foundations of Surrender. Learn practices that help us to have a relationship with the Unknown, however you call it. We change what we are able and we leave the outcome and the rest to God. Practices, like meditations, setting up an alter, and seasonal traditions foster a conversation with the Unknown.

The last course of the series, Foundations of Surrender, is coming up Saturday Sept 13th, 12pm. We will practice and learn about what kind of rituals and traditions support us in surrendering the outcome. You may already be doing some of them, but bringing them into more intentional practices may provide just a little more presence with life.

Every New moon has a different story to tell in your life and some may be felt more strongly than others depending on the Natal arrangement of your birth chart. This new moon is in Gemini! The Home of Mercury, Hermes, the guide of souls. Mercury the host, is also there as the moon and Sun (New Moon) arrive together. Interestingly, Venus is also present with moon and sun all in the same place. This arrangement of Venus and Sun at the same place is like a New moon for Venus, called a Cazemi. Venus is dieing and being reborn into the night sky by the of July and the same time the moon is being reborn. So the Moon cycle of Gemini over the next 6 months until it is full in Sagittarius will be playing out the story of a new Venus in some area of your life, depending on the whole sign house of Gemini & Sagittarius. A New venus might be reflected in new ideas new speech, new communication, new games, new technology, new commerce (all mercury things and wants) that upholds the story of Venus, beauty, relationships, sensuality, Aesthetics, music, art, harmony, bringing unlikely things together for beautiful arrangement of the whole (all things and wants for venus). The story will play out somewhere in the whole sign house of Gemini.

In one of my favorite books, Ashtanga Yoga: The Practice Manual by David Swenson,
he says,

"In standing sequence our balance is challenged and the understanding of how to work with the forces of gravity is developed....Be aware that the over emphasis upon the lifting qualities of an asana will weaken the foundation and stability will become diminished. With an overcompensation of the rooting quality we will find it increasingly difficult to keep the body erect and lightness will be hindered.....Ideally we must seek a balance between these two forces in order to feel free in our expression of Yoga,"

Thanks Nora for sharing your love of plants friends with us! Nature is a big aspect of our foundation and do much of our Yoga practices is about understanding that we are nature and therefore our relationship with nature builds a relationship with self with the body. 3 Reasons it is advantageous to have a Personal Yoga Practice in this Modern Living!

1. The more virtual we are, the more mental we are, the more our attention and therefore our prana, our life force lives in our heads. This disrupts our natural movement patterns. We need to create deliberate time to be in and feel our bodies. What I mean by that is we need deliberate time to feel the body breathing and moving in the way that feels freeing, strong, and mobile. Therefore, our awareness needs to reside some time during our day paying attention to how it feels to live in our body, to move our arms and legs, to breathe deeply into our belly. The body is like a House that our spirit lives in or the vehicle that our spirit uses to experience the world.

2. We live in a consumeristic culture. As a result, our body has to remove and eliminate much more than it ever has before. Anything and everything our senses and body takes in, must be sorted, processed, integrated, and eliminated to remain well. As human beings in a modern world we do not take enough time to sort, process, integrate, and eliminate. As you might expect the body, mind, and energetic field get clogged up, dirty, unorganized. The elements of the Yoga practice aid us in the process of living and not just consuming.

3. There are many people practicing Yoga in our world, which is wonderful, but it's time to transition to being led to understanding how the practice is your ally and will change as we grow and change. Because of reason number 2, for this to be a sustainable practice, you have to know how to build the practice form the philosophy and from the Earth to allow the efficiency of the process to do it's magic.

Grab a seat, a mat, a few hours this Saturday 11a-5p and/or this Sunday 1-5p, as we discuss and practice the Foundations of Asana and Foundations of Breath to start you on your way to having a relationship with and ownership for your body, mind, and energy as you practice, alone or together in community!

Join us for a variety of yoga styles, from traditional Ashtanga and Hatha based practices, spontaneous vinyasa flow and aerial yoga, gentle Yin and restorative aerial yoga, to partnered practices that give and receive through non verbal communication and play. Classes for all levels and all people because we are all worth it. We will support your journey to transform, strengthen, heal and free your body, mind, and spirit.
