Resouling Therapy

Resouling Therapy Resouling Therapy offers mental health services- from a Licensed Professional Counselor and interns-

Resouling Therapy is here to help you have a healthy relationship with your thoughts and emotions so you stop judging yourself harshly and begin to view yourself fairly. An accurate view of yourself provides the necessary environment for healing and growth. Mike and his team work with individuals and couples who deal with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, strong-inner critics, transitions, and in finding purpose. We also support you in your relationships: finding safe-enough ways to risk and "show up" for those who are important to you. Resouling Therapy considers your attachment style and provide "resouling" experiences that leads to healing and connection. The interns on the team can provide quality therapy at a reduced rate.

Do you judge others too harshly because that's the way you also judge yourself?
Acknowledging where we struggle and giving ourself support isn't selfishness.

Some of the most resilient people I meet in trauma therapy don’t look like they’re struggling at all.

They’re highly capable. Driven. Empathetic. They hold it together in public, take care of everyone else, and have mastered the art of “pushing through.”

But here’s the thing:
Functioning isn’t the same as healing.
Adapting to pain isn’t the same as moving beyond it.

Our minds and bodies are incredibly smart when it comes to survival. We learn to cope in ways that help us keep our pain at bay - like staying overly independent, avoiding conflict, overachieving, or putting everyone else’s needs first.

These patterns often start as protection. And they work - until they start getting in the way of what we actually need.

While you might look fine on the outside, your body might still be bracing. Your relationships might still feel distant. Your joy might still feel like something you have to earn.

Healing is what happens when we stop just performing wellness and start tending to the parts of us that never got the chance to feel safe, held, or whole.

It’s slower. It’s messier. It’s deeper.

And it doesn’t mean erasing the ways you adapted. It means understanding them, honoring them - and slowly giving your system permission to live beyond them.

Not perfectly. Not all at once. But in ways that let you feel more present, more connected, and more at home in your own life.

A while back, I had the opportunity to visit the command center aboard an extremely large ship. Toward the end of the tour, the captain asked if I would like to sit in his seat. As I sat down, I couldn’t help but be amazed at all the skill and expertise necessary to safely run this vessel.

My friends who were with me took several pictures of me looking like I was in control. But it was an illusion. I didn’t have the knowledge or the experience to do anything helpful unless the captain instructed me.

Can you imagine what a foolish request it would have been if I’d asked the captain, who was fully capable and fully equipped, to entrust his ship into my fully incapable hands?

I can verify, without hesitation, that me being in control of that ship would have been a risk no one wanted to take. It may have felt good to feel in control for a few minutes, but if I wanted to return home safely, I had to turn the control over to the captain.

Just as in life, there are dangers in the sea that only the captain knows how to handle.

Trying to carry the weight of holding everything and everybody together is a role God never called us to carry. And it’s taking a great toll on our peace.

But we can trust our Captain to steer the ship and carry the weight of the control. He is so good at being in control.

Your values, goals, and dreams are as unique to you as your fingerprint.

Don’t make the mistake of chasing a life that isn’t right for you just because it’s been promoted by society, people you follow on social media, or those in your community. Take the time to look inward—rather than outward—when it comes to identifying the path that’s right for you.
