Did you know that January is Self-Love Month? In wrapping up this month, start a new habit to take a moment each day to acknowledge what you appreciate about yourself. ❤️ Speak to yourself as though you were complimenting a friend. If it’s difficult at first, reach out to a loved one and ask what they love about you.

Building and maintaining self-esteem is a skill that comes with practice. You can develop awareness for recognizing opportunities to practice self love and be intentional with your mindset. When working on your goals for this year, start by ensuring those goals are manageable and realistic, and remember to give yourself grace and celebrate your wins, no matter how small. 🏆

Regardless of achievements or productivity, take time to love and appreciate yourself for exactly who you are right now. Practice accepting all of yourself with compassion and without judgement. Saying or writing something you love about yourself each day is a great place to start. 🌱

We previously explored some of the many reasons why someone might develop a hoarding disorder, everything from physical health conditions that make it difficult to maintain a clean space to comorbidity with other mental health conditions, as well as other risk factors, such as certain personality traits, stressful life events, and certain habits.

Hoarding disorder may also be associated with strongly held beliefs like the examples below when it comes to acquiring and discarding items, as well as intense emotional attachment and reactivity. Continuing to let these beliefs and emotions control one's actions will prolong the hoarding disorder. This is why cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the effective types of talk therapy for treating hoarding disorder.

To inquire about current availability with our clinicians who treat hoarding disorder, call our Chagrin Falls office at (440) 708-0188 or our Hudson office at (234) 269-6200. You can also submit our online intake form here: https://bit.ly/New-Client-Intake-Inquiry.

Did you know today is National “Have A Bad Day” Day? 😫

This day provides a chance to acknowledge that you may not be happy all the time or have a good day every single day, and that’s perfectly okay. The holiday challenges toxic positivity and gives people permission to be authentic, especially when life feels less than perfect.

It’s normal to have some off-days and sometimes just acknowledging that you’re having a bad day is enough to be helpful and allows you to give yourself grace. 🤗

This day is a great excuse to open up to someone you trust about the things in your life that you may be struggling with. For many, this honesty brings comfort, connection, and even a sense of relief. It’s a small but meaningful rebellion against the pressure to always be “fine.”

If someone you know is having a bad day, offer them kindness and empathy ❤️ or see if you can help them find any humor in the situation.

If you feel like you're having a bad day often and would like to speak with a licensed professional, you could engage in talk therapy to help process your emotions and anything else happening in your life that is contributing to bad days.

To inquire about current availability with any of our clinicians, call our Chagrin Falls office at (440) 708-0188 or our Hudson office at (234) 269-6200. You can also submit our online intake form here: https://bit.ly/New-Client-Intake-Inquiry

Have you heard of Zero Tasking Day? ⏰

It is celebrated on the first Sunday in November every year on Daylight Savings Day. With clocks turning back an hour, we may be tempted to spend that “extra” hour getting a few more tasks in.

However, Zero Tasking Day encourages us to dedicate those free minutes to ourselves by enjoying moments of peace and quiet while appreciating our lives. 😌🌿 It celebrates finding joy in simplicity and calmness, teaching people that in a fast-moving environment, it is okay to pause, reflect, and appreciate life.

It is an intentional approach to focus on self-care and relaxation, so disconnect from your to-do list and spend time doing things that replenish your spirit and relax your mind. It’s a day for you, free from the pressure of productivity. 🧘‍♀️
