Not all imaging is the same — each one looks at the body in a different way:
🩻 X-Ray
Takes a single still image
Best for seeing bones and fractures
Fast and commonly used in hospitals
Shows structure, not movement
🧠 MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
Uses magnetic fields (no radiation)
Best for soft tissues like muscles, discs, nerves, and ligaments
Produces very detailed static images
Usually done while lying still in a scanner
🎥 DMX (Digital Motion X-Ray)
A specialized form of X-ray that records real-time movement
Shows how joints, ligaments, and the spine move while in motion
Helps identify instability or abnormal movement that may not appear on standard X-rays or MRI
Often used for complex spine or injury cases
👉 In simple terms:
X-ray = snapshot of bones
MRI = detailed picture of soft tissue
DMX = video of the body moving
Each tool has its place — the right one depends on what doctors are looking for.
We are one of the few offices that have both Xray and DMX at one location! Let us know if you have been in an auto accident or have been suffering with chronic pain and we can see if we can help!
