Addiction doesn’t just affect one person—it impacts entire families. Parents, siblings, partners, and children often carry invisible burdens: the worry that never quite goes away, the grief of watching someone struggle, the confusion about what to say or do next.
That’s why we created Family Support Night.
Every 4th Thurs of the month we open our doors to families navigating the complexities of loving someone with substance use disorder. Whether your loved one is in treatment with us, receiving care elsewhere, actively using, in recovery, or somewhere in between—you’re welcome here.
**What happens at Family Support Night?**
This isn’t a lecture or a program you have to complete. It’s a space where families can:
- Connect with others who truly understand what you’re going through
- Learn practical strategies for communication and boundaries
- Ask questions in a judgment-free environment
- Process your own feelings with compassionate guidance
- Find community among people who get it
Led by our Livensed Marriage and Family Therapist Clincial Director and a member of our Masters level Clinical Team, these evenings blend education, support, and honest conversation. Some nights focus on specific topics like enabling versus helping, managing crisis situations, or taking care of yourself. Other nights, we follow where the group needs to go.
**You don’t have to be a Sunlight client family to attend.**
We believe recovery happens in community, and families need support regardless of where their loved one is—or isn’t—getting help. There’s no pressure to share if you’re not ready, and confidentiality is paramount.
Loving someone with addiction is one of the hardest things a person can experience. You don’t have to do it alone. All are welcome
