Chevy would have done well to make it into actual production because of the popularity, instead they chose not to. Now, don’t get me wrong, the C5’s are nice, but, I firmly believe that the concept model would have produced better sales because of its design
The 2009 Corvette Stingray Concept made its debut at the Chicago Auto Show, boasting a forward-looking design drawn from iconic Stingray heritage. Its bold contours, divided rear window, and squat, broad stance captured widespread interest.
Beneath the surface, it packed an LS3 V8 derived from the C6 platform, emphasizing both power and fuel economy through features like cylinder deactivation and compatibility with light hybrid tech. Far from a mere display piece, it packed real engineering substance.
Though it never entered production, the concept shaped the Corvette C7's development and earned international fame by starring as Sideswipe in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
