Franklin County Veterans Affairs is offering as many as five one-time $1,000 scholarships to area veterans' dependents through the We Support You scholarship program.

Eligible applicants are high school seniors living in Franklin County who are local veterans' dependents, have been accepted into an accredited higher learning institution and are in need of financial assistance. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and participate in both extracurricular and community service activities. Students must also complete the scholarship application and submit three letters of reference, including one from their high school guidance counselor, along with other documentation as noted by the application instructions.

All applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 30.
