Meet Angel 🐾

Angel’s story is a special one. She first came to live at Menno Haven with her human, Margaret. When Margaret could no longer care for her, Angel found a new home and a new purpose with Jody, our Director of Personal Care.

Today, Angel spends her days doing what she does best. Loving on residents, joining in on walks, and bringing comfort to everyone she meets. 💛

This National Pet Day, we’re celebrating the pets who become so much more. Companions, comforters, and part of what makes our spaces feel like home.

What does the world feel like for someone living with dementia?

Recently, team members from the Memory Homes took part in dementia training designed to better understand that experience.

During the session, they wore simulation goggles that alter vision and perception. The exercise offered a glimpse into how everyday environments can sometimes feel confusing or overwhelming for individuals living with dementia.

Experiences like this help build empathy and strengthen the person-centered care that guides everything we do at Menno Haven.

Sometimes, understanding begins with seeing things from a different perspective. 💙
