When a mother calls. Bernadette Bowman will answer any time of the day hour of the day or what ever. We at House Of Hope of Franklin County Inc . Have always answered the call. This mom called her son was in trouble and needed immediate treatment. We made some referrals... fast forward a little while later the other son was ready to surrender and he was ready to take his life back too.Bernadette watched both these boys grow into the men they are. And she went into immediate action as she always does. And we are very proud to say they are both sober today , because of one mom reaching out to another. We are ever so very grateful we can be a catalyst to great things. And this is a very big good thing. Tonight was their treatment facility's graduation. We are so proud of these boys and so very happy for their mom. She has always deserved all good things. Here's to many years coming Erin Peer high five sister !!!!! Keep reaching for the stars guys. Its all obtainable!!!!!!

House Of Hope of Franklin County Inc . Was spotlighted again. My heart smiles every time I see someone do this. It makes me know I'm still doing the next right thing.

Nicky Tesla CPS, part of Region I (Perry, Dauphin, Cumberland, and Lebanon Counties) has been volunteering for House of Hope in Franklin county!

A family friend of Nickys, owns and operates the facility that provides outreach and support to women who are suffering through traumatic events. They provide structure and stability to their environments.

To whom it may concern I used to think recovery had to look only one way. Total abstinence. No medication. No gray areas.

But life, experience, and hundreds of conversations across tables and jail pods and in the Emergency Room and meetings changed that for me.

Recovery is literally defined as a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and reach their full potential.
Nowhere in that definition does it say how that journey has to look. Nowhere does it say there is only one right way.
Yet people will still judge others for being on Suboxone…
Or taking their mental health meds…
Or even using ma*****na to stay out off the needle and out of a casket.

The longer I’ve walked this path, the clearer it became:
I don’t want to be a gatekeeper of recovery.
I want to be a bridge.
I want to support people no matter their path.
Because I’ve seen people with “perfect abstinence” still miserable.
And I’ve seen people using tools and supports (including medication) living free, healthy, stable, and thriving.
If someone is improving their health.
If someone is rebuilding their life.
If someone is choosing life over death.
That is recovery.

Meet people where they are.
Not where you think they should be.
Every human deserves hope, dignity, and a chance to grow. Thanks for attending my TED Talk, Bernadette

Hello everyone its getting cold outside. I’m ISO Hats and Gloves and coats for the ladies. Meduim large xlarge and plus in coats We are also looking for sweat shirts and pants all sizes. Call me with any donations. Im willing to come pick them up of need be. We have some really great girls again this go around and im trying to keep them in warm clothes. Some of them walk to and from their jobs and I think they need some heavier clothing. Thank you Bernadette Bowman
