Meet the Team Thursday!

Today's team spotlight is our Transportation team: Emily B., Bobbie K., Karen B., and John H.. They provide transportation for our participants whether it's coming into the center, taking them to medical appointments or going on adventures in the community on scheduled outings. It’s Meet the Team Thursday! Kim Hardy is the Home Care Scheduler for the Albright LIFE –Franklin Center and she has 11 years of service under her belt. Kim says that her favorite thing about working here is the team she gets to work with every day and the participants who brighten her days. A fun fact that most people don’t know about Kim is that she is afraid of live poultry. When it comes to food, she describes herself as a “foodie” …she loves all of it (including fried chicken!). Her favorite place to go is any place beachy or tropical. Participants at the Albright LIFE –Franklin Center participated with the Therapy department’s “Ride Across Pennsylvania.”

This annual activity encourages increased mobility and promotes continued independence in the community. Our participants rode our Nu-step bikes, keeping track of their mileage for three months. We are proud to announce that they successfully "traveled" on the map from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh … a grand total of 307 miles! Those who participated in this wellness activity were presented with certificates of recognition during our July Town Hall Meeting. Great job everyone!

Meet the Team Thursdays!

Introducing Brenda Fike. Brenda has been the Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator with the Albright LIFE –Franklin Center for 7 ½ years. Brenda loves to see the difference LIFE makes for our participants and their families. When she’s not hard at work, she loves to go fishing – fresh water or salt water. Her favorite place to go is the BEACH, specifically the Outer Banks, North Carolina. Her favorite food is Mexican, but she will take a tasty steam pot over anything any day! Words of wisdom that Brenda always shared with her kids were, “You’re going to be an example. Choose to be a good one.”
