True, true, true . It has been a decade or more since I worked for a traditional boss who had a boss and so on… and where I managed a team, impacting others at work. This I know — the environment coupled with your own understanding of self makes all the difference in professional & personnel life. You deserve a place to shine & be appreciated. Posted withregram • You don’t have to hustle yourself into sheer exhaustion to prove you belong anywhere. 🙅🏻‍♀️

The right workplace will recognize your value without demanding you constantly audition for it. Are you in the right place?

If they’re burying your potential instead of building it…you’re not the problem, the environment is.

Thank you for offering so consistently your heartfelt words to expand knowledge of the adoptee experience • reposted. - I’m so thankful to for publishing my letter to adoptive parents, specifically those in Christian spaces who unknowingly hurt adoptees with their oversharing, and then lament when these adoptees become struggling adolescents or adults and haven’t “turned to God.” Here are a few excerpts. Thank you for reading and sharing. (Link to the full letter is in my bio.)

This was written from a place of deep pain over an accumulation of seeing too much oversharing in my social media feed, knowing all too well the emotional and spiritual damage taking place. My wish is for adoptee stories to be handled with the care and sensitivity they deserve, and for adoptive parents to heed their own advice to “turn to God” (and private support groups and resources led by adoptee educators) when an adoptee is struggling, not to the masses on social media who do not understand the many nuances involved.

Amen, sister. • Well explained .lett.therapy !
Slowing Down to Go Deeper. A core value of my therapy practice, admittedly not always the most popular... I get it I’m impatient in my personal work too. But not with yours!

Life events may cause you to feel broken. Relationships may leave you feeling broken-hearted, from absence or disappointment. Broken promises, broken dreams, broken down etc... At some point it is hard to escape a sense of being broken which often leads to a belief that we are actually broken. Broken becomes a part of identity. Therapy offers space to process loss and trauma, to reclaim a whole sense of self while honoring the lived events that cause feelings of brokenness. 💔❤️✌️.

The world is moving so fast. One tragedy and we are on to the next. Does your life sometimes feel like that too? Maybe or maybe not, however, it is hard not to get caught up and feel anxious or frazzled because of your own actions or someone else's.

Psychotherapy gives a 50-minute hour to actually stop, think, feel, and listen to yourself. And not just internally where it can get really loud. Friends, family, and intimate partner relationships are very important, and they are - or should be - reciprocal. Therapy isn't. Your therapist is there to deeply listen, try to understand who you are as a unique being, ask pointed questions gently, and offer a coping strategy for time to time to try — all with the focus on you. Time to pause and process.

Governor Brian Kemp Signs SB100 “Andee’s Law,” Ending Decades of Discrimination Against Georgia Adoptees

ATLANTA, GA — In a landmark moment for adoptee rights, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed SB100 “Andee’s Law” into law today at the Georgia State Capitol, reversing more than six decades of sealed records and restoring a fundamental right to Georgia-born adopted people.

For 64 years, adult adoptees in Georgia were denied access to their own original birth certificates—a policy widely recognized as discriminatory and unjust. With today’s historic signing, that policy has come to an end.

Beginning July 1, 2025, Georgia-born adoptees aged 18 and older will be able to apply for and receive a copy of their original, pre-adoption birth certificate directly from the Georgia State Office of Vital Records—no court order required.

The Georgia Alliance for Adoptee Rights (GAAR), which has tirelessly advocated for this legislation, applauds the bipartisan support behind SB100 and the Governor’s commitment to adoptee equality.

GAAR will provide additional information and guidance about the application process in the coming weeks to help adoptees prepare for this long-awaited opportunity.

Community is strong, you are not alone. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️Posted • Every day, we wake up to new attacks on our community, new atrocities happening around the world, and we still have to get through our daily lives.

It can be a lot to manage, but remember: we have each other and will keep showing up for one another.

You matter. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈• While this is a scary time for many of us in the LGBTQ community and anyone living at the intersections of marginalized identities, it’s important to remember that you are not alone.

Support, resources, and compassion is all around us– you just have to know where to look and who to ask. The most radical thing any of us can do right now is to take care of ourselves, to feel joy, to care for others, and to reaffirm that we will not be silenced or erased.

If you need help or support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of these resources. 🏳️‍🌈🩷🏳️‍⚧️
