Food & Trauma During the Holidays
The holiday season can be triggering for many, especially when food, family dynamics, or past trauma are involved. If certain foods, smells, or conversations bring up stress or anxiety, you’re not alone. These can be trauma responses.
Remember:
You can set boundaries
You don’t owe explanations about what you eat
Your emotional safety matters
It’s okay to step away or say no
If this season feels heavy, support is available. Be gentle with yourself, healing takes time.

🌿 Understanding Your Inner World: An Introduction to Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Have you ever felt like part of you wants to do something… but another part really doesn’t?
Maybe one part says, “I need to rest,” while another insists, “You can’t stop working yet!”
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a powerful and compassionate approach to therapy that helps us understand the many parts of ourselves.
According to IFS, we all have an internal family made up of different “parts,” each with its own feelings, thoughts, and motivations.
✨ For example:
A Perfectionist Part that pushes you to do more.
A Protective Part that helps you avoid getting hurt.
A Vulnerable Part that carries pain from the past.
And beneath all those parts is your Self; calm, curious, confident, and capable of healing.
Through IFS, we learn to listen to our parts with compassion instead of judgment, allowing them to relax, heal, and work together in harmony.
You don’t have to fight your parts, you can befriend them.
If you’d like to learn more about how IFS can support your healing journey, we’d love to connect.

Self-Care Isn’t Selfish, It’s Essential
Self-care isn’t just bubble baths and quiet time (though those help too!).
It’s setting boundaries, asking for help, saying “no” when needed, and making time to check in with you.
Whether it's a 5-minute mindfulness break, a walk outside, or reaching out for support, every step counts.
💬 How are you practicing self-care this week? Let us know in the comments.

🌧️ Rainy Days & Self-Care 🫖
Just like the weather, our minds have cloudy moments too, and that’s okay.
Rainy days are a gentle reminder to slow down, breathe deeply, and check in with yourself.
Whether it's:
✨ Curling up with a book
🫖 Sipping something warm
These small acts of self-care can ground and soothe you.
Today, give yourself permission to rest. Your mental health matters, rain or shine. 🌧️☀️

It can be difficult to see the positives day to day. One thing that has changed that is looking for the "Glimmer" each day. Just like in this photo there is a slight rainbow.
My "Glimmer" today was being able to make Apple Blondies for loved ones. What is your "Glimmer" today? Share in the comments below.

With September being Su***de Prevention and Awareness Month, we wanted to share ways to support a loved one in a crisis.
Here are a few suggestions from National Alliance on Mental Health. We are also going to add a link for a downloadable guide for those who have loved ones that struggle with chronic depression or suicidal thoughts. Please reach out if you or someone you love is struggling. They can also text 988.

Talk openly and honestly. Don’t be afraid to ask questions like: “Do you have a plan for how you would kill yourself?”
Remove means such as guns, knives or stockpiled pills
Calmly ask simple and direct questions, like “Can I help you call your psychiatrist?”
If there are multiple people around, have one person speak at a time
Express support and concern
Don’t argue, threaten or raise your voice
Don’t debate whether su***de is right or wrong
If you’re nervous, try not to fidget or pace
Be patient
