The Cunningham Township Supervisor's Office (CTSO) is seeking a full time Food Equity & Events Coordinator to help build community resilience and end hunger in Urbana.
CTSO is a public office providing housing, food, income, and other assistance to low-income residents in Urbana. Our diverse team is dedicated to supporting our neighbors in meeting their needs. Our work is guided by the principles of social justice, cooperation, and love.
Our Food Equity Coordinator will support the Solidarity Gardens collaboration, field food assistance requests, manage township events, and support the Supervisor. Solidarity Gardens networks gardens, free food providers, and volunteers to feed our neighbors in need (www.solidarity-gardens-cu.org). Township hosts monthly events to bring all residents together to enjoy free food, live music, access to resources, and community.
Successful candidates will have a commitment to food equity, at least one year experience coordinating projects and events, ability to work with people of all economic/racial/gender identities, technical chops (basic website, listserv, and document management), a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 30 pounds, and ability to work some weekends and evenings. Gardening experience preferred. Spanish or French language proficiency is a plus.
