Are you thinking of purchasing new patio furniture and wondering what you can do with your present furniture?

Donate it to C-U at Home!

Our new building on Mattis Avenue has two patios (one on the men’s side and the other on the women’s side) and with warmer weather coming, our clients would love to gather outside and enjoy the great outdoors. We are looking for a table and 6-8 chairs for each patio.

If you have gently used patio furniture to donate, please call or email Susan (217-819-4569, Susan@cuathome.us ) to coordinate your donation.

THANK YOU!

Welcome to Thankful Thursday!

Today we are thankful for our friends at Two Men and a Truck, Champaign. Moving is always stressful and time after time, Two Men and a Truck has donated their time and people to help us relocate. And they’re not just movers! They also organized a drive to collect journals for our clients. Those journals are a valuable tool to help our clients express their feelings and document their journey through our program.

Welcome to Thankful Thursday!

Today we are thankful for Dan and Miranda Church, owners of The Venue C-U in downtown Champaign. Dan and Miranda have graciously hosted One Winter Night at their beautiful venue for the past five years at no cost to C-U at Home. As a popular wedding location, giving up a Friday and sometimes Friday and Saturday was an extremely generous gift! Dan also served on the C-U at Home Board of Directors – always keeping the board grounded in their faith-based mission.

One of my biggest barriers to getting sober was not having a safe place to work on myself. It felt impossible to get clean around the same people I always hung out with. C-U at Home gave me the stability I needed and the time to get counseling to work on some of the things that were holding me back. -Anonymous

A BIG THANK YOU to Roy and the crew at Draperies and Interiors in Savoy. They donated all the shades for the windows in our new Mattis Avenue Building. The windows in the building are all different sizes and non-stock shapes. C-U at Home could not have afforded window coverings for the building so we would have had to buy what we could when we could afford it, leading to a variety of styles and materials.

This generous gift not only adds beauty to our building but provides safety and privacy for our residents and a significant savings in energy costs for years to come!

Words are inadequate to express our gratitude for this impactful gift.

Today we celebrate a graduation!

Angie graduated from C-U at Home’s Pathways to Progress program on Thursday! Angie currently works for Campus Culinary Solutions and is living in a house with her two sons. She has been sober since September 15, 2025, and will be graduating from Drug Court on April 30.

Angie enjoys giving back to others and is starting by leading recovery meetings (NA/AA) and welcoming newcomers into the recovery community.

“What if I wish for impossible things?
Then you're doing it right. It always seems impossible when you first start.”
― T.J. Klune, In the Lives of Puppets

Keep wishing for impossible things, Angie!
