It’s called the Balanced Plate Method, and it’s my go-to formula for putting together quick, healthy meals that actually taste good (and don’t take forever).

Here’s the secret:

🥦 ½ plate non-starchy veggies — think greens, colorful veggies, cruciferous favorites

🍗 ¼ plate protein — salmon, chicken, eggs, or lentils

🥑 1–2 tbsp healthy fats — olive oil, avocado, nuts

🍠 Small palm-sized portion starch — sweet potatoes, quinoa, beans, or rice

The best part? I don’t cook every night. I batch cook my proteins, veggies, and starches on the weekend, then mix and match throughout the week. Dinner comes together in minutes.

Here’s the truth most women aren’t told ⬇️

Perimenopausal women face a 40% higher risk of depression than their premenopausal peers.

And globally, anxiety disorders in women our age are projected to rise by 40% by 2035.🤯

That’s not because we’re “too sensitive” or “losing it.”

It’s because when estrogen drops, it disrupts brain chemicals like serotonin and dopamine.

These brain chemicals regulate mood, energy, and even our motivation.

Add in the stress of midlife responsibilities, and it’s no wonder so many women feel like they’re struggling just to keep it together.

But here’s the part I want you to hear: there is nothing wrong with you, and you don’t have to just “push through.”

With the right tools, support, and lifestyle foundations such as sleep, stress management, proper nutrition, and movement, you can calm the chaos and actually feel like yourself again.

I was moody, depressed, and put on an antidepressant that didn’t help. On top of that, I had super heavy periods and was encouraged to get a uterine ablation, rather than anyone looking at the root cause.

Today is World Perimenopause Day, and it matters because so many women are unprepared for this season of life.

5 years ago, I was in the thick of perimenopause… mood swings, depression, and major fatigue running the show. 😩

I tried everything… supplements, diets, workouts… but nothing stuck. If anything, the stress made me feel worse. 😩

I got to the bottom of my symptoms and went from feeling awful to improving my sleep, stabilizing my crazy moods, and was able to get off my antidepressant.

Once you hit your 40s, you may have noticed your body’s playing by a whole new set of rules (thanks, hormones 😅).

Slower metabolism. Less muscle. Cravings that come outta nowhere.

That’s where protein steps in — and no, it’s not just for bodybuilders.

Protein is essential for:
