Heel pain can be due to simple bruising, for example, if you’ve been walking or running for an extended period, especially on hard or uneven ground. Pain from bruising should resolve with a few days' rest.
The condition that most often causes heel pain is plantar fasciitis. This affects the bottom of your heel and is due to inflammation of the connective tissue called the plantar fascia. The plantar fascia runs the length of your sole and provides support to your arch. Overuse of your foot and carrying too much weight are common causes of plantar fasciitis.
Some other causes of heel pain include:
• Tarsal tunnel syndrome
• Stress fractures
• Heel pad bruise
• Heel bursitis
• Achilles tendinitis

Bromodosis is the medical term for excessively smelly feet, but having bromodosis doesn’t mean you’ll develop other health complications. Most of the time, foot odor isn’t a sign of underlying illness.
However, severe sweating and foot odor in every season — not just when it’s hot during the summer — could be a sign of hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating even if you aren’t overheated. It may cause sweaty, smelly feet and be so severe that it interferes with your daily life.
Many people think that foot odor is linked to diabetes. Although having smelly feet doesn’t indicate diabetes, people with diabetes do need to take special care when it comes to their feet.
Diabetes can cause peripheral neuropathy and peripheral artery disease, and your feet may get damaged without your knowing it. A strong odor could be a sign of a wound or ulcer, which needs immediate medical attention.

Start with good foot hygiene:
• Wash your feet with antibacterial soap. Make sure to clean between your toes.
• Dry your feet, and sprinkle them with cornstarch, foot powder, or antifungal powder.
• Wear moisture-wicking socks.
• Change socks frequently throughout the day.
Still can’t control it? See a doctor. Treatment options can include prescription roll-on antiperspirants and there is a topical called qbrexa (Glypyrronium) that can be used to block the ability to sweat locally.

Mild corns and calluses don’t usually need treatment and will go away on their own. But there are some things you can do to help them go away more quickly:
• Wear thick socks to protect your skin.
• Rub your callus with a pumice stone while you’re in the bath or shower.
• Use corn pads to relieve pressure.
• Apply salicylic acid to help dissolve corns and calluses. Be sure to follow directions carefully so you don’t damage healthy skin. Never use acid treatments on your feet if you have diabetes.
• Wear prescription foot orthotics.

Flats don't give your arch enough support, which can lead to back, knee, and foot pain, and flip-flops do similar damage. Both can also lead to plantar fasciitis, a painful condition in which the tissue on the bottom of your foot becomes inflamed from supporting your arch without the help of shoes.

Mother's Day in the United States is an annual holiday celebrated on the second Sunday in May. Mother's Day recognizes mothers, motherhood, and maternal bonds in general, as well as the positive contributions that they make to society. It was established by Anna Jarvis, with the first official Mother's Day celebrated through a service of worship at St. Andrew's Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia, on May 10, 1908. Popular observances include holiday cards and gift-giving, churchgoing often accompanied by the distribution of carnations, and family dinners.

There are 26-foot bones in each of your feet—one less than in each hand. When we’re born, those foot bones are mostly cartilage. They only completely harden around age 21.

Warts are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Like any virus, warts are spread through contact. The virus enters the body through tiny cuts or cracks on the bottom of the foot. This can occur when walking barefoot on surfaces where the virus is present. The virus thrives in warm and moist environments, making locker rooms and swimming pools a common source of infection.
It can take as long as six months to develop a wart after the skin has come into contact with the virus, making it difficult to identify the source of the infection. Individuals can reduce their chances of contracting a wart by avoiding walking barefoot, especially in public spaces. Keeping the feet clean and dry can also help.
Symptoms of plantar warts include:
• Small, fleshy growths on the bottom of the foot, which may be rough or grainy.
• Hard, thickened skin, where a wart has grown inward.
• Black pinpoints in the center of the growth, which are clotted blood vessels.
Warts are often mistaken for corns or calluses, which are buildups of dead skin. However, warts typically have well-defined boundaries. Attempting to remove them with a foot file may be painful and may cause bleeding.

Many people will have an ingrown toenail at some point in their lives. Using the right technique to cut your toenails can help prevent this problem, though.
It’s important to make sure that you cut your toenails straight across, leaving them long enough so that the corners lie loosely against the skin at the sides.
In other words, don't trim your toenails too short, don't round the edges, and also don't try to cut the toenails into a pointy V-shape.
Trim your nails using nail scissors, nail clippers, or a nail file. It's best to choose the tool that you're most confident using.
If you have difficulty reaching your feet with your hands or safely using nail scissors, get help from someone you know or seek professional assistance. Professionals who do pedicures make sure that your nails are cut correctly, and they take care of the rest of your foot, too.
If you notice abnormal changes on your feet or have health problems like diabetes, it's best to see your doctor about it. He or she may be able to refer you to a podiatrist (a foot specialist).

The feet are particularly susceptible to arthritis because each foot has 33 different joints. Because there’s no way to keep weight off of arthritic feet, developing this condition in the foot and ankle joints can result in a loss of mobility. Fortunately, early diagnosis and proper podiatric care can prevent this outcome.
Some forms of arthritis are hereditary. Other causes of arthritis include:
• Past foot and ankle injuries, especially if injuries weren’t properly treated.
• Bacterial, viral, or fungal infections that spread to the joints.
• Complications of irritable bowel disorders, particularly colitis.
• Biomechanical irregularities such as flat feet or high arches that result in unbalanced weight distribution across the different joints of the foot.

The signs and symptoms of a bunion include:
• A bulging bump on the outside of the base of your big toe
• Swelling, redness, or soreness around your big toe joint
• Corns or calluses — these often develop where the first and second toes rub against each other
• Ongoing pain or pain that comes and goes
• Limited movement of your big toe
Although bunions often require no medical treatment, see your doctor or a doctor who specializes in treating foot disorders (podiatrist or orthopedic foot specialist) if you have:
• Ongoing big toe or foot pain
• A visible bump on your big toe joint
• Decreased movement of your big toe or foot
• Difficulty finding shoes that fit properly because of a bunion
