"I am slowly approaching the end to my breastfeeding journey and I just wanted to say thank you so much to Dr Thompson and her team for everything.
I can say with confidence that this course and this group is the reason I was able to provide my baby girl with 100% breast milk for 7 months.
I was uneducated with my first and used the forceful methods they teach in hospitals and wasn’t able to get my son to latch.
I threw in the towel 3 weeks after he was born because it was too much pain, stress, and burden.

This time around I was able to successfully latch with no help from the hospital staff because of the Thompson Method.
My baby girl was exclusively breastfed for 3 months before I went back to work. After that I pumped at work and breastfed at home until she was 5 months. I then started exclusively pumping.

Now at 7 months I am making the decision to slowly drop pumping sessions and start incorporating formula.
I am so proud of what I have accomplished for my girl and I owe it all to the education and support from this team.
Thank you so much. I definitely recommend this program to any expecting mamas I know."" ~ Danielle C

🤱💕 Breastfeeding Without Pain Is Possible With The Thompson Method 🤱💕

For women planning, expecting a child or experiencing any challenges with breastfeeding, there are a few GENTLE steps you can take to reduce the risk of ni**le pain and damage 🤱

With The Thompson Method, you’ll discover new, evidence based information that will guide you towards breastfeeding your baby without pain 💯

It was created by Dr Robyn Thompson, after spending 1000’s of hours helping 1000’s of mothers overcome painful breastfeeding complications.

So many women are being discharged from the hospital system with painful ni**le trauma 🤷‍♀️😭😱

👉🏻 So Dr Robyn spent years researching why this was the case, and why women who gave birth at home did not seem to be experiencing the same type of ni**le damage.

This led to Dr Robyn being awarded a PhD, but it didn't stop there

She has combined her years of research with 50 years of midwifery experience so that expecting mothers can avoid the common breastfeeding issues 💯

And now, as a certified Thompson Method Breastfeeding Educator, I'm guiding women online right now (today) and I'd like to share it with you too 🤱💕

Join me so that you can be well informed and well prepared for your breastfeeding journey.

If you were to ask any woman, “Would you like to be in control and have your decisions respected during your pregnancy, labour and birth?”
Of course, the answer would be YES!

Many women in our community share their concerns about how they can ensure the healthcare team will follow their wishes.
My encouragement to all of these women is to know and understand their rights when preparing to give birth in the busy hospital system.
If a woman chooses to create a birth plan, I highly recommend for her to include her breastfeeding preferences.
Because, as I’m sure you’re aware, it’s so important for women to understand that the decisions made during labor and birth will greatly influence breastfeeding.
I do acknowledge that it can be difficult for health professionals who are under pressure due to hospital policy and time constraints.

However, I support Dr Robyn's words that “Giving Birth Belongs To The Woman, Not the System”.
My aim is to share this information so that each woman has the knowledge and confidence to be in control of her labour, birth and breastfeeding experience.
As health professionals, it’s important for us to take the time to listen ❤️
Remember, a woman needs to be encouraged to have confidence in her body and to be guided by her maternal instincts.

Are you aware of your rights when you give birth? 🤷‍♀️

No-one has the right to you make you feel fearful or coerced.

In the absence of an emergency, you have the right to hold and have your baby 👶🏻 with you or close to you, for as long as you wish 💫
Routine procedures, such as weighing and injections can wait, as these are not emergency/urgent procedures.

When and if these procedure(s) are to be performed, should be based on your informed decision 💛

In the Beautiful Breastfeeding program, I'll guide and support you in creating a birth plan that's unique to YOU, so that others understand and respect your wishes.

Hey friends,

It has been a very busy day for me. I had a chance to start my day with a yoga class, which gave me all the energy to go on for my long day. Really! I met my business partner to discuss about our project…then went on with other things with the kids until they went to bed…

But I didn’t forget to listen to one of the postcasts that I’ve been following about parenting. It was about “Trust love.” I realized that it is related to what we do as breastfeeding moms, even the first time moms; that we trust our bodies and our maternal instincts, and we allow the baby to use their survival skills…

It was an amazing, memorable breastfeeding journey with my two kids.

"Dr Thompson has totally changed the game for us with breastfeeding. This is my second child, and our feeding journey has been so magical. The way she discusses and explains things is so clear and thoughtful—I wish the whole of UK healthcare would take up her methods! I’ve experienced next to no pain at all and we are four weeks in with a baby who has a tongue tie, which generally causes a painful latch, but with her help, I am genuinely enjoying every moment. The best thing I ever did was start this program during my pregnancy! My ni***es thank me every day, too." - Sofie Gooch

Hey friends,

As you know I am a Family Nurse Practitioner, but people often ask me how I also became a Breastfeeding Educator. It was funny because I didn't think as a health care professional, I would have issues with breastfeeding my own baby at first.

I thought breastfeeding was easy and it should come "naturally", but it stressed me out at first as a first-time mother. I cried on the 4th day of having my baby because my family rushed to buy formula for my baby. I chased myself to use the breast expressor around the clock to get precious breast milk for my baby for 2 months until I couldn't keep up anymore...

Did I give up at that time?

No, I looked for all the online resources that I could find... I told myself I had to transition my baby back to breast to be able to sustain breastfeeding because my breastfeeding goal is not for 2 months; it's at least 2 years, as American Academy of Pediatrics recommend...

And I did it! I did breastfeed my first baby for more than 3 years... How?

Ladies - tell me - did you experience or do you know anyone who wasn't able to breastfeed the way they wanted to when they were pregnant?

"✨5 Key Factors to Include in Your Birth Plan✨

Key Factor #1: Routine Vaginal Examinations
Many women are not aware that they have the right to say 'NO' to routine vaginal examinations, and this is one of the reasons why Dr Robyn Thompson encourages women to include this as a consideration in their own unique birth plan checklist.

Key Factor #2: Induction of Labor and your birth plan options
Whenever induction of labor is recommended, it’s okay to ask why. Dr Robyn encourages women to ask ""why"" and to be informed of the benefits, risks, and alternatives.

Key Factor #3: Routine Procedure
When planning to give birth in the hospital system, it's important to be aware that hospital systems are designed for efficiency with the aim of rapidly processing women in, through, and out.

Key Factor #4: Colostrum and the First Breastfeed
Not all newborn babies will go straight to the breast immediately following birth. However, Dr Robyn Thompson talks about the 3 golden hours, giving time for your newborn to feel secure. It's important to consider the first breastfeed (The 3 Golden Hours) in your birth plan, so that your baby has the best possible chance of receiving your colostrum.

Key Factor #5: Unexpected or Emergency Situations
Dr Robyn Thompson encourages women to avoid unnecessary medical intervention wherever possible. However, it's important to be aware that, as things change or unexpected things occur, a reasonable discussion may take place, where the woman or her partner or advocate may be required to make an informed decision.

Comment or send me a PM if you have any questions regarding your Birth Plan or what else to put down in your Birth Plan.

The Thompson Method of breastfeeding is based on the sharing of outcomes of Dr Robyn Thompson's PhD Breastfeeding Research.

Less than 2/10 Australian Women breastfeed to 5 months, less than the World Health Organization recommended 6 months.

Most of the Western World have similar outcomes including the USA, Canada and the UK.

Dr Robyn (at the age of 78) has worked alongside thousands of women experiencing a wide range of breastfeeding complications (within hours or days of being discharged from hospital).

And it was these women who inspired her to research the WHY.

Why were women being discharged from hospital presenting with complications in the early postnatal period?
