Why is no one talking about how we feed our body's?? Today foods have genetically modified ingredients and added preservatives making it harder for the body to function efficiently.
Try choosing fresh whole foods which not only are easier for your body to break down, it feeds the cells to generate energy.

Creating things in the kitchen aren't just for Mom's. Let the kids join in and help. Simple tasks like washing veggies or stir the pot can be a great foundation for their interest in foods, flavors and preparation. Having kids help with building salads or layered dishes such as some casseroles, gets them involved with handling (or playing ) the food.

Over time they will begin to appreciate food in different ways. Introducing new foods and flavors are a win win!!
I love color and that means my plate as well. I use many colored foods that enhance the desire to indulge. Using foods with different flavors like pungent in leeks, onions or watercress, sweet flavors in carrots, broccoli, cauliflower or even spinach and salty flavors bring my taste buds alive.

By adding texture like crunchy carrots or seed and nuts, steamed veggies like broccoli or cauliflower are softer than eating them raw or by adding sprouts to the dish.
There are no real food rules, experiment and have FUN. Find what fills you up and leaves you wanting more.

The rules and guidelines they set actually do the reverse and weight gain is a side effect of dieting.

Spending time outside in nature reminds me to slow down and reconnect with nature and leave the mind chatter behind.
It doesn't matter if I am in the garden, planting flowers or even pulling weeds it fills me up and removes all stress. Being in the fresh air and sunshine also does a body good.

Stress and overwhelm seem to be everywhere these days. Our fast paced lifestyle has left many of us drained, shut down or even explosive with others.

If this sounds familiar I want to share a simple yet very effective breathing technique you can do anywhere Yes even in the grocery store line or boarding a plane.
Here goes - simple take a deep breathe in and slowly exhale with your lips pursed as if you were blowing out a straw.
Do this for 3 to 5 breathes and we start to calm done as your body moves from the "fight or flight" aka sympathetic nervous system to "rest and digest" parasympathetic nervous system.

Dieting has failed us all.

They are ineffective for long term weight loss and harmful to our bodies.

Side effects of dieting include:
** A reduced metabolism
** Weight gain
** A disordered relationship with food.

I was shocked that many of the "healthy lifestyle plans" such as Noom, Whole30, paleo, cleanses and intermittent fasting are, in fact, diets.

SO what is a DIET anyway?

A diet is an way of eating that restricts food or removes categories of food-with the intention of changing or shrinking your body.

If you've done any of these diets, I want you to know that I've been there. For decades, I followed more diets than I can count.

After years of suffering through diets and "food plans" I realized that when we restrict food or follow strict food rules, it's counterproductive.

Eventually, the diet/detox/cleanse/ become unsustainable.
>we break the rules and/or overeat
>we experience extreme guilt and remorse from breaking those rules
>we feel like a failure
>we feel the need to start with the rules again to regain our control with food.

Does this sound familiar? It's so common!
