We knows Krishna is Supreme. But what defines His supremacy?
- Srila Jiva Goswami, in the Bhagavat Sandarbha, defines the Absolute Truth by His unique capacity for Viruddha-dharma-samanvaya. the simultaneous accommodation of contradictory qualities.
|
- If God is merely "Great," that is partial. He must be "Great" and "Small" simultaneously (lighter than the lightest, bigger than the biggest).
- When the intellect (buddhi) hits the wall of contradiction and fails to process the data, it surrenders. That moment of surrender is the beginning of Ascharya (wonder).
- We cannot "figure out" Krishna. We can only appreciate Him. As long as we try to fit Krishna into our logic, we remain on the mental platform. When we accept the contradiction with awe, we enter the spiritual platform.
