The 6-week check is just a checkpoint...it by no means a definitive end of your postpartum experience. Because if you think about it, you are postpartum for the rest of your life.
If you are having a rough go, you are not alone. 1 out of 8 - 10 women is right there with you. Please let us know if you need resources to get through this time with some support and camaraderie from other birthing people who are also struggling with sadness, rage, anxiety, sleeplessness, food issues...the range of postpartum symptoms is a big one.
Give yourself time - there is no rush to get back to “normal” after the birth of your baby. It can take up to a year to feel like “yourself” again...and in some instances, even longer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You are not alone. Current data shows that feelings of postpartum mood and anxiety (PMAD) affect 1 out of 8-10 birthing people.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The good news...in all cases, help is available...you can and will feel different and more “like yourself” again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Feelings that you may be having could include:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Continuous feelings of sadness and uncontrollable crying⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Severe sleep problems – inability to sleep or sleeping too much⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Changes in appetite – eating too little or too much⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Excessive irritability, anger, worry, or agitation⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Extreme lack of energy and motivation⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Inability to get pleasure from previously enjoyed activities⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Lack of interest in the baby, friends, and family⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Extreme feelings of guilt, worthlessness, despair, or hopelessness⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Inability to concentrate or make decisions⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Thoughts of harming the baby or yourself⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
