Arizona patients depend on CRNAs, especially for surgical, OB, and emergency care in rural communities.

Insurance companies are pushing reimbursement cuts targeting CRNAs, putting access to essential anesthesia care at risk across our state.

SB 1372 (formerly HB 2447) is our response to stop these cuts and protect patient access to care.

What an incredible turnout at the AZANA CRNA Legislative Happy Hour!

This evening marked the HIGHEST number of legislators ever in attendance at a single AZANA event, a meaningful step toward stronger collaboration between CRNAs and the leaders shaping healthcare policy in Arizona.

CRNAs from across the Valley showed up with pride, creating an energizing space to connect, build relationships, and highlight the vital role we play in delivering safe, high-quality anesthesia care.

These conversations matter. When clinicians and policymakers come together, we help ensure that the decisions shaping healthcare ultimately strengthen the quality, safety, and access to anesthesia care our communities receive.

Thank you to the legislators who joined us and to the many CRNAs who took time out of their busy schedules to represent our profession. The momentum from tonight reminds us that continued engagement like this will keep moving our profession and patient care forward in Arizona.

Before anesthesia was widely recognized as a medical specialty, women were already leading the way in safe surgical care.

Alice Magaw (known as the Mother of Anesthesia) safely administered more than 14,000 anesthetics, helping establish early standards for safe anesthesia practice.

Agatha Hodgins helped shape the future of the profession by founding the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and advancing formal education for nurse anesthetists.

Their leadership helped build the foundation of modern anesthesia care.

Today and every day, we honor the women who shaped the profession.
