Sometimes, you have to get thru a big storm to find a double rainbow on the other side.

This happened last night after a huge storm. It got me thinking about how life can feel so big and overwhelming, and then something reminds you that those moments are necessary to get to the other side of the storm and it always passes.

So enjoy my double rainbow pictures❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🩷🩷💜💙💚💛🧡❤️

good morning :) happy thursday!!
I am constantly amazed at the resilience my clients have and have endured some of the hardest things in the world to overcome. Sometimes we have to dig to find it, but it is there. Sometimes we have to learn new skills, but those skills can be learned and enhanced.

Hello friends - it's been a while.

This year has pretty much hijacked my extra "space" to be able to post here as "one more thing I should do" and I was able to eliminate the extras and just focus on the "have to get these things done." I firmly believe in being honest and upfront with people and get thru the "fluff." So suffice to say - this year has had a LOT of death and grief, a lot of messy situations, and a lot of people (personally and professionally) in my life really struggling with some really big things. I keep describing life as feeling like I have to make the bed while the house is on fire burning down around me.

#1 Grief: uuuuugh. So many emotions all in the space of 5 minutes. I can go from sad, to angry, to laughing, to sad - and not even realize what just happened. Grief is a hard topic because everyone experiences this soooo differently. And ALL of that is absolutely normal which feels really strange while you're experiencing it. Instead of judging the emotion - be curious about it. Sit with it and wonder how the emotions play out in a typical day - or moment. What just happened inside of me that allowed me to laugh when I just want to lay in bed and pull the covers up over my head and cry and eat ice cream? Try reflecting on the emotion instead of judging it for right or wrong. It's ok to laugh and feel joy when you are deep in grief.

Take a breath, and remember that you can get through all the hard days - they're hard - no doubt, but you have the capacity to find the strength from within to get through it all. Sometimes if you just remember to breathe, feel your heart beating, and the strength of the heart and those vibrations can get you through some of the hardest moments. You're ok. You're going to be ok. Your body and your emotions are doing exactly what they're meant to do in this moment.

SUPPORT: A colleague of mine is hosting an online grief group called, Good Grief. Good Grief - "Allow yourself time and space to feel grief and let the guided meditation and music bring you comfort.
This is an invitation to an online guided meditation and sound healing session for anyone that needs comfort. Join me in community and experience this guided meditation and music session online. 8pm, MST July 25, 2024"

All of us have cell phones these days, and we make sure they're charged up and ready to go. Or if they're about to run out of charge, that becomes a priority to get it charged again.

We often don't do the things that would charge our bodies... take a look at the battery drainer listed below and see what might be draining you. What can you change that might drain you less in your life?

We all deserve to be in an environment that allows us to be ourselves, not something you feel like you have to survive. I teach clients to pay attention to how their body feels in different scenarios... with people, without people, at this job, at this place, with this group of people, etc. Our bodies tell us everything we need to know, we just have to listen to what the body tells us and then act accordingly.

“We repeat what we don’t repair.” - Christine Langley-Obaugh Isn’t this the truth? We go thru life wondering, “why do I keep doing the same thing over and over?” My goal is to help clients to feel better and to change their mindset about their issues that continue to cause challenges. This frustration is common but there has been such a negative societal stigma about seeking help and counseling. My goal as a therapist is to focus on the core issues that cause us to respond in the same ways over and over.

My specialty is "messy." I have worked with clients who have experienced some of the toughest situations life has thrown at them. Many people have experienced trauma at some point that continues to show up in different ways in daily life (healthy and unhealthy). I specialize with clients who have experienced complex trauma in their lives.

My clients and my career as a therapist has been my life long passion in helping others be a better version of themselves and learn to communicate better and “show up differently” to make their lives easier and healthier. I look forward to meeting you and seeing what we can do together to help resolve whatever issue it is that brings you to see me.
