. a campaign to support the Alzheimer's Association and raise awareness through creativity.

08/11/2025

Every click brings us closer to awareness. šŸ’œ
is a national creative campaign by Spectrum Retirement senior living communities to support Alzheimer's Association. Through hand-painted umbrellas, we’re raising visibility for Alzheimer’s and celebrating the power of community art.

Gardens at Ocotillo designed this Artbrella with the belief that no matter what season of life you’re in, there will always be a new day and a chance to start fresh. Each brushstroke reflects hope, renewal, and the beauty of beginnings—no matter where life takes you.

Created by residents Eleanor, Nancy, Jackie, and Jan, along with our amazing team members Carl, Micaela, Elvia, and Melanie, this piece is a colorful reminder that tomorrow always holds new light. We’re competing to win our regional round and move into the Final Four!

šŸ“£ You can help — LIKE, COMMENT, and SHARE to spread the message.
Let’s go national for a cause that matters.

šŸŽØ Introducing: Paint Away Alzheimer’s – Our National Campaign to with Purpose šŸ’œā˜‚ļø

At Spectrum Retirement Communities, we believe that creativity can spark connection, storytelling, and even change. That’s why we’re proud to launch Paint Away Alzheimer’s, a national initiative raising funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s AssociationĀ® through bold, beautiful, and one-of-a-kind works of art we call Artbrellas.

Each umbrella is a canvas of hope—designed by our residents, families, and teams to honor memories, raise awareness, and reflect the spirit of their community. These stunning Artbrellas will be proudly showcased at your local Walk to End Alzheimer’sĀ® and other Spectrum fundraising events.

šŸ’œ From brush to impact, every design supports Alzheimer’s research and reflects our commitment to purpose-driven living.

šŸŽØ Want to get involved or see your community’s Artbrella? Reach out to us—and follow us for updates as we Paint Away Alzheimer’s, together.

šŸŽ‰ Happy Juneteenth!
Today we honor a powerful reminder of freedom delayed but not denied.

As we reflect on this pivotal moment in American history, we celebrate the resilience, courage, rich heritage of African American culture, and contributions of Black Americans, past and present.

Let’s dance to the rhythm of unity and share stories that inspire! ✨ Together, we rise!

More than just a day off — it's a day of remembrance. Today, we pause to honor the brave individuals who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice allows us to enjoy the freedoms we hold dear. We are forever grateful. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øā¤ļø

Our Charcuterie Board Creation class was a delicious hit! Residents tapped into their inner food artists, crafting stunning spreads of meats, cheeses, and fresh garnishes—paired perfectly with a glass of red sangria and smooth jazz in the background.

Food and music have a way of bringing people together, and this experience proved just that. We’re already looking forward to making this one of our signature programs! šŸ‡šŸ„–šŸ·

Our All Gals Brunch was a heartfelt celebration of the incredible women in our community. Chef Tiffany outdid herself with a delicious spread featuring cucumber sandwiches, decadent desserts, and sparkling mimosas. šŸ„‚

Laughter and conversation filled the room as our lovely ladies enjoyed the soothing sounds of a live mother-daughter harp and flute duo. It was the perfect blend of elegance, connection, and celebration—and a reminder of the beauty of gathering together.

Our 2nd art show was once again a success! This time we raised money for the Parkinson Association and raised a total of 470 dollars! Residents and guest mingled and selected art pieces. For every 5 dollars that was donated they had the opportunity to take apiece of art. The was sweet melodies playing in the background while sipping on fine wine. This time we incorporated a guest speaker. Jason a physical therapist which specializes in neurological disorders. He shared information regarding the disease which included prevention, signs and treatment. We look forward to our next art show. This event is now a community favorite!

When 90-year-old Connie and 1-year-old Levi rolled through the community side by side, we couldn’t help but smile. ā¤ļø Two generations, two wheels, and one beautiful reminder that mobility is freedom at every age.

Shirley’s latest work is a masterclass in color harmony and subtle gradients. šŸŽØāœØ Using a blend of soft blues and greens, she crafted a composition that evokes both tranquility and movement—proof that simplicity can be just as powerful as complexity. With delicate spray and brush techniques, she transformed an upcycled frame into a striking study of modern minimalism.
Art is ageless, and creativity knows no bounds. Bravo, Shirley!

Even better? Each Love-O-Gram supported the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, spreading love while making a difference. šŸ’œ Now that’s how you redefine Valentine’s Day!
