The being with is not an action, it just is. Again, that’s the work. Ironically, it’s also not the work of doing, either for the client, or the therapist, both of whom may have an inclination to, again, come from that place of Vritti. Our practice as DBR therapists is the noticing of the fluctuations, and getting under them.

January 23rd and 20th, 2026

This event runs a couple of times a year. 10 spaces only. This follow-up to HWS Part 1 helps develop a greater understanding of working from a parts perspective in process, as well as through the lens of structural dissociation theory and EMDR therapy. The experiential course is also especially beneficial for learning how to conceptualize when working with complex trauma and dissociation through a theory of dissociation.
The two-day practicum, a live, online practicum-based event, provides therapists with the opportunity to now increase their confidence and skills in working with Structural Dissociation Theory and apply what has been taught in HWS Part 1, including the application of Fraser’s Dissociative Table /Meeting Place and working with parts in a more "organic" way.

I am still astounded by the incredible EMDR International Association conference. With 1700 attendees, all passionate about learning, growth, community, and healing, it was an awe-inspiring experience. I am always grateful to attend these events, and after 23+ years as an EMDR Therapist (how did that happen, by the way?), I am struck by the diverse range of experiences and connections that can be gained from attending these conferences. They are truly inspiring.

In other news, I was delighted to officially give EMDRIA-approved EMDR Consultant Dr. Elizabeth Warson of Healing Pathways, Colorado, her approval as an EquiLateral ® Consultant. Elizabeth is a researcher, therapist, and true advocate for EA-EMDR.

Elizabeth is seen here on the left with me, as well as Sonja Bigalke-Bannan of Heart Horses, Hawaii, and Brittani Frade of Golden Horse Counseling, Utah, at the EMDR International Association conference.

Congratulations Elizabeth!

We also might have had a lot of coffee that day. Just saying.

Super proud of Griffyn. Nearing 8 months now, he is showing to be quite the therapy dog. We are progressing with our training, and seeing amazing things unfold with our EMDR, EquiLateral: The Equine Assisted EMDR Protocol and DBR-related work. I am always so grateful to bring four leggeds into all kinds of trauma healing, and to see this boy shine is an added bonus!

Many of you met him at the recent DBR/AT that I hosted here in Chandler. Nothing like a whole bunch of EquiLateral: The Equine Assisted EMDR Protocol trained clinicians ALSO helping me to train this pup, each doing so with an open heart and beautiful timing of treats!
