Any therapists already trained in EMDR therapy will tell you that most EMDR trainings only scratch the surface about complex trauma and dissociation.

So, to help with this challenge my EMDRIA approved EMDR training helps newly trained clinicians to also better understand how to work with complex trauma. I also run small trainings, with 9-12 people, total. You get a more personal learning experience, can ask in depth questions, and get support as you learn and practice. I truly believe everyone has an innate ability to heal. For the last twenty+ years, I’ve specialized in the treatment of complex trauma and dissociation. My clinical work, training, and consultation practice is especially focused on helping therapists and their clients to increase their capacity to work with and heal complex trauma and dissociation. In addition to individual and group case consultations and trainings, I also provide adjunct EA-EMDR intensives and DBR intensive services so that clients can get “unstuck” and feel relief as they move forward.

In both humans and horses, awareness begins in the quietest places. The body speaks long before the behavior does. Horsemanship reminds us to listen early, gently, and often. Before the “big reaction,” there’s always a cue — if we’re willing to see it.

Healing begins when we learn to track the subtle shifts, not just the big events. What happened before what happened matters more than we think.

Many newly trained, and even more experienced DBR therapy clinicians can still feel uncertain and need support after completing their DBR Level One training. It can be a lot to take in. Students can feel overwhelmed as they attempt to learn, integrate, and then apply the neuroanatomy. I also understand that the journey to becoming a confident and effective DBR Level One clinician doesn’t end there.

This event provides an excellent platform to connect with colleagues who are on the same learning journey.
The event covers topics and themes that are particularly relevant for either newly trained DBR Level One therapists or those who have registered for subsequent levels and are seeking to review their Level One foundations in preparation.

As a trauma therapist, I understand it is difficult to sit with the uncomfortable moments and feelings. Bringing awareness is an important part of healing and Deep Brain Reorienting Therapy, but mindfulness can be tricky.
