My name is Jared Countess and at the age of 10 I weighed 200lbs and was labeled clinically obese. I struggled with my weight, my self worth and finding direction almost my entire life. It wasn't until I found a fit and healthy lifestyle that I truly gained self confidence. When I started to help others find themselves through being physically fit and mentally healthy that I found self worth

My name is Jared Countess and at the age of 10 I weighed 200lbs and was labeled clinically obese. I struggled with my weight, my self-worth and finding direction almost my entire life. It wasn't until I found a fit and healthy lifestyle that I truly gained self-confidence. When I started to help others find themselves through being physically fit and mentally healthy that I found self-worth. Through my own experience I have learned building self-confidence is not easy. So, one of my passions with my career is assisting others to find their self-worth, confidence and finding their own identity. I find that many simply struggle because they do not know the way, rather than lacking desire or drive. After having my own obese issues, diet issues, social unacceptance and overall appearance and self-confidence issues, fighting is the only option. I have also learned having a great support team around you can increase and fast track this for each client I am privileged to work with. I take pride on the referral business I have built and continue to create through current and past clients. It is human nature to help each other and this is a critical part of my being and my WHY with my business. Helping others whether they deal with extreme cases of obesity, diet, overall health or dealing with professional athletes get to the next level, my goal is my client’s goal. However, I create the correct and healthy path to improve overall health, fitness and getting them back on the right track and breaking bad habits, bad form and overall years of physical abuse. The fitness industry is full of myths, magical supplements, short cuts, that beat yourself into the ground mentally and emotionally which set you up for FAILURE. I have tried every method and what I have found are short cuts, and promises that again lead to failure. There is no short-cut to success. This is no different when it comes to your health and fitness. Hard work, diet while enjoying and building your confidence will always be more successful than any “magic pill”. The real key to life achieving fitness goals is blending workouts with your diet in the proper way. What I have also discovered through many years and many hours of research is there is no ONE method. Knowing each client, their individual diets, body type, gene, daily routine and overall DNA allows me to set them up for success. When my clients succeed, I succeed. For example, a professional sprinter will have a completely different workout than a marathon runner. Diet, exercise, weights, sleep habits and overall lifestyles will be completely different. Also, believe it or not, men and women are built very different, their hip alignment for example must be recognized and treated individually. As I increase my knowledge and clientele, this allows me to continue to grow in my overall knowledge and education. I pride myself in this continued education and growing my own knowledge as life, technology, medicine and fitness continues to progress. I enjoy the constant challenge of keeping on the cutting edge of fitness and how I can continue to improve for myself and each of my clients. Jared Countess

Train for Function and the Mirror Will Come

After over a decade in this industry and 20yrs dedicated to improving my personal health.

If you train to feel good and move good. You will look good as long as you eat for the body you want.

This does not mean chronic undereating. It means eating for tissue repair, recovery, muscle building and at times fat loss.

It does mean prioritizing your joints health. Because any car with a big engine and poor suspension is bound to crash hard at some point.

Keep your suspension (joints) healthy, your chasey in alignment and you can upgrade the engine almost at will.

Treat your body like everything else in your life.

However, as you age recognize that the car gets harder to turn, harder to handle at speed.

So don't focus on going faster, instead...

Focus on making this life journey as smooth a ride as possible.

Keep those joints healthy!

Fascial Training 🤔 Well at least it's finally catching on.

I am so excited about this new revolution in fitness

Having studied and worked with fascial systems as a trainer for over a decade

I have mixed feelings...

1. Understanding how fascial systems work to balance and coordinate the body is key to longevity and a pain free body.

2. It's great to see other practitioners picking it up. It is a life changing approach to training for both client and practitioner

3. Having done this for over a decade the term "Fascial Training," bothers me a little - 🙃

So what is *Fascial Training*

Is it some fancy new style of training 🤔

Is it highly different from all other forms of training. i.e. Bodybuilding, Sports Specific Training or Yoga???

Well the answer is Yes &... No

In truth fascia based training...

Is an approach to training the human musculoskeletal system with respect to the way it's actually designed to function!

Yeah you see my posts on Anatomy books and Biomechanic books being wrong.

Well the reason they are wrong is that fascia is largely unaccounted for.

You see fascial systems integrate the bodies various functions

Basically how your right arm swing with you left leg...

Yea, that's a fascial system

You see head to toe we have 6 Major Fascial Systems

With about 72-144 Fascial Sub-Systems depending on who you speak to...

These systems are what truly connect our body and allow our muscles, bones and joints to work together.

Not saying other forms of training don't do this but...

Specifically, some forms of training like bodybuilding seek to isolate muscles or distort these fascial systems to create a certain look.

And I am not against bodybuilding in fact I used to dabble in it.

But the Ultimate Truth is this...

If you're not dedicating a good amount of your training to

Maintaining fascial connections

Restoring damaged fascia

And ensuring the elasticity of fascia remains in fact

Your training is slowly or rapidly removing human abilities and capabilities from you

Thanksgiving! Giving Thanks!! I am Beyond Thankful

In 2022 my son moved with his mom to North Carolina. Not going to lie for a long time, I felt like my son was the only family I needed.
-
When he moved, he took a piece of my heart with him. Little did I know that would eventually lead to a wholeness, I have never felt.

Last year, I went to Baltimore for more than a funeral, for the first time in 10yrs. There I was able to pick up many of the other pieces of my heart and bury old wounds. It was a mending I could not describe.
-
This Thanksgiving, I was able to see family I hadn't seen in almost 20yrs, some I've never meant and some brand new.
-
I am thankful and beyond grateful to all that is for the life I've had and the things I've been blessed to see the other side of. The promise is true, and to see my family thrive gives so much hope, encouragement and faith.
-
This season as we pass into renewal and old things perish for new things to be born in spring. We are thankful for the things and pains and struggles that have passed, knowing that life is forever moving forward and that the horizon is always bright.

Live Life Recognizing Purpose: Notes from my latest visit with a large part of my purpose.

I had a friend/client once tell me that people are too caugh up in purpose in finding purpose in life and they should focus on living. The world would see this person as uber successful (more so than myself) and while there's some wisdom to this statement. I immediately disagreed!
-
We come to life with many purposes
-
Part of the Purpose of Life is Living,
-
But life is so much more. Purpose is the direction living takes you in, purpose is the imprint you leave.
-
Purpose is the people you meet and touch; from the door dash driver I argued and almost got in a fight with last night to the stranger I gave a dollar to 2 weeks before.
-
Purpose is my son, my responsibility as a son, a father, a brother, a black man descended from people who survived great horrors (as humans we are all descended from both slaves & conquerors, no matter race/ethnicity, just trust me on that 😉).
-
Purpose is my work, my words & my actions.
-
Purpose is the people I have been blessed to help
-
Purpose is legacy
-
I had an amazing time with my son during his Spring Break and this is my favorite picture from that trip. He is so like me and so very different and I could not be more proud of the 2. I hope & pray to stay true the purpose of my coming into being.
