We’re happy to officially welcome Dr. Jenifer Higgins to Neosho Memorial’s Women’s Health Center. Although it’s her first official day, she has been busy for several weeks in our OB department and in the clinic during the busy summer months!

🩺 Focus: Women’s Health, OB, and Pediatrics
📚 Training: University of Texas Medical Branch, Austin (OB/GYN residency); University of Texas Medical School, Houston (medical degree)
💡 Interesting fact: Dr. Higgins enjoys living and practicing medicine in a rural community.

With 20 years’ experience, Dr. Higgins offers women a well-rounded background in Family Practice with Obstetrics (FPOB)—a specialty that blends family medicine with focused expertise in caring for women throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. She also sees pediatric patients.

The staff of Neosho Memorial proudly honored 51 employees reaching significant milestones at a Years of Service Reception on Tuesday.

Wendy Brazil, CEO, recognized each employee, expressing gratitude for their commitment and contributions to the hospital.

“I enjoy this reception because it celebrates not only your commitment to our patients and your community, but also to each other and our relationship with one another. I believe people go into healthcare because they want to help people, and you all, do an amazing job, but they stay at one place, because of the relationships we have with each other,” Brazil said.

“I’ve stayed here so long because of the great, great people I work with every day. So, thank you all for your loyalty and dedication to our patients and to each other,” she added.

Bruce Mullen, NMRMC Board Chairman, acknowledged Brazil’s years of service and those of others in the room.

“On behalf of the hospital Board of Trustees, I sincerely thank each of you for your many years of service. We truly appreciate the effort you all put in on behalf of the hospital and its patients. We hope to see you many more times at this reception,” Mullen said.

Joining the honorees were family members and coworkers celebrating the people whose years of dedication have made a lasting impact on the hospital and the lives it touches.

Congratulations Dr. Law! Wendy Brazil, CEO, announced Dr. Yi Ying Law as the recipient of the 2025 BEST High Performing Physician Award. This honor was presented in front of her peers at the August medical staff meeting.

Dr. Law is a general surgeon at Neosho Memorial and was nominated for her spirit of collaboration, professionalism, and encouragement to both patients and staff.

“Her professionalism and positive attitude are buoyant,” reads one of her nominations. “She elevates the mood and performance of our ED every time she participates in our patients’ care.”

Congratulations Dr. Law on this well-deserved recognition. We look forward to a hospital-wide reception to be held this September.
