🌟 Honored to return to Cal Poly Humboldt’s Nursing Program at their Fall Intensive to present Our Health, Our Voice alongside my amazing team. This program brings healthcare self-advocacy to the forefront, equipping healthcare professionals with tools to strengthen patient-provider collaboration and patient agency in meaningful ways.

The response from nurses and program directors underscores the importance of integrating patient self-advocacy training into healthcare education. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this session impactful! It’s inspiring to see Our Health, Our Voice continue to resonate with professionals eager to elevate their approach to patient-centered care.

🎉 Exciting Announcement: Cycadian Health Advocacy is now Rachel Westlake Consulting! 🎉

I'm thrilled to introduce new services that educate and engage patient groups, care professionals, and industry stakeholders about patient self-advocacy. My signature services include interactive presentations and workshops on patient self-advocacy with a patient panel.

I'm currently building customized programs for some excellent universities and nursing students. I love this work, and so do my patient partners.

My experience as an independent health care advocate working with AYA cancer survivors and individuals with chronic conditions has deepened my understanding of the critical role of patient self-advocacy and patient agency. I'm also an experienced patient – a 2x AYA cancer survivor. I've dug into the literature that connects the dots on what's missing in meaningful participation. In partnership with esteemed medical professionals, I'm developing an innovative protocol focused on self-advocacy to further our collective knowledge in this vital area.
