Mandala Yoga is a new yoga studio in South Chapel Hill. Our mission is to foster a welcoming space that is deeply connected to the roots of yoga. We integrate all aspects of the practice, from careful movement to intentional breathing to holistic lifestyle choices, so you can unlock your greatest potential. Our highly-trained, passionate and specialized teachers will create a personal, welcoming environment for you to embark on a deep journey of self discovery, inspiring you to live a more healthy, aware and balanced life off the mat. We welcome all interested practitioners of every shape, size and background!

North Carolina, early voting starts today. Get. Out. There!

1. BRING AN ID
2. If you’ve been removed from the rolls and don’t show up as registered, ASK FOR A PROVISIONAL BALLOT!
3. Bring your own water, food, blanket, etc. “Line warming” - helping people out if they are standing in line to vote, has been outlawed.
4. Early voting sites-you can vote at any one THAT IS IN THE COUNTY WHERE YOU ARE REGISTERED.
5. If you vote November 5, you MUST go to your assigned polling location.
6. Absentee ballots can be dropped off at early voting sites. They should be signed in by the site supervisor!

If you’re looking for a way to support individual recovery efforts in Western NC, consider making a donation through their website. The best way to support long term disaster recovery is cash so small businesses in a tourist town can rebuild. Trained disaster recovery professionals need us to stay out of the way and not become part of the problem. Truly, cash is going to help clean, rebuild, temporarily house, re-employ and feed people. NC friends-next Friday at 8 you have plans. is coming to The Cary. I cannot tell you enough how much you need to see this show. I’m totally biased because the first time I heard their music I was ugly crying because their songwriting is THAT good, and I immediately wanted them on our stage. So, watch this part. Exiting the echo chamber means you have to engage with the source material. 1. His first instinct is to suggest tax evasion for cash tips. 2. The idea of eliminating taxes on tips is good, solving an immediate problem for people who depend on them. 3. It completely ignores the systemic problem of paying people through tips as though work is a meritocracy. That’s the problem. The quick fix feels really good for people who are struggling. The bigger problem-requiring living base wages, health care, paid leave, and profit sharing as a reflection of meritocracy for employees is completely ignored. But the quick fix that validates the struggle is what people find appealing.

Our Story

Mandala Yoga NC (www.mandalayoganc.com) is off the beaten path, but still convenient to 15/501 and is located on Mount Carmel Church Road in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. With three gorgeous acres at the intersection of Durham, Orange and Chatham Counties following country roads, right next to Governor’s Village, you can start decompressing even before you hit the mat.

We started this studio for a very basic reason - when I (Christine) moved here two years ago, I had trouble connecting to a local studio. My co-founder, Christian Berry, and I both found a deep connection to Kripalu, an ashram in the Berkshire Region of Western Massachusetts. Christine has practiced yoga for over 20 years in this style. Christian completed his 200 hour yoga training there during a very intense February, and so we began the search for a space that was “just right” to open our studio. We found it at 781 Mount Carmel Church Road, and opened on October 30, 2017.

We set out to create a space deeply connected to the roots of yoga, one that welcomes all bodies in every shape and at every stage. There is no “one true yoga” in our opinion, and however you get to the mat -- for exercise, spiritual enlightenment or to slow down and feel your breath -- we’re excited that you are willing to give it a try, or keep up your practice.

But what we love most is the community of teachers and students we are building. We offer yoga of many kinds, workshops and a place where you can just be. The renovation of the house at 781 was a labor of love, we built things, painted every surface and created a space containing cozy magic. We welcome you to join us.
