The prop wall at Evolve is beginning to take shape. It’s filled with beautiful new pieces for practice. Many of you know I have a soft spot
for simple, well-made things, so you’ll find linen bolsters and 100% cotton blankets waiting for you.
One piece, though, means a little more. A lucky bamboo plant was gifted to me during one of my final classes at Yoga Garden, as a quiet way of carrying something meaningful from the past into what’s next.
It’s had me reflecting on what has made these past years so special.
Yoga is often translated as connection or unity. In my classes, that takes shape through a beginning meditation, intentional movement with clear, embodied alignment cues, and closing with a poem or reflection. There’s usually a thread running through the whole class, something we return to as we move and breathe together.
But what stands out most isn’t something I plan.
It’s the sound in the room before class begins—people catching up, checking in, laughing. It’s knowing each other’s names and pieces of each other’s lives. It’s the feeling when we sit together at the end and chant three Oms, and sometimes they just land in a way that feels shared.
That sense of community is what I care about most and what I hope to continue building at Evolve.
Whether you’ve practiced with me before or are considering joining for the first time, you are warmly invited.
Classes begin May 19. Sign up through the link in my bio.
