Aging around the lips is rarely just about the lips…

It’s one of the most complex (and most rewarding) areas to treat ✨

Because what we’re really seeing is a combination of:
• loss of lip volume
• fine lines above and around the lips
• a more “pursed” resting position
• skin thinning and texture changes
• subtle chin retrusion + loss of lower face support

All of this together creates that “aged” look — even when the lips themselves aren’t the only issue.

That’s why transitions like this take intention, patience… and a plan 🤍

This wasn’t one treatment.
It was a layered approach over time:

• Lip filler to restore soft, natural volume
• Skin boosters to improve hydration + texture
• Laser to soften superficial lines
• Structural support (chin/jawline/cheek when needed)
• Biostimulation to strengthen the lower face long-term

The goal is to build slowly and treating the areas affecting lips too.

From 1665 → 2024 → 2026, this image reflects something interesting about how our perception of beauty has evolved.

For a while, aesthetic treatments became associated with over-exaggeration — lips that were too full, contours that looked sharp or artificial, features that started to look less like the person.

What I love about where aesthetics is heading now is that it aligns so closely with what I have always believed in.

Respect the anatomy. Respect the person. Enhance — don’t exaggerate.

And an important note about the 2026 version:
this look is not “untreated.”
It still includes fillers, Botox, biostimulators, and skin treatments.

The difference is how they are used.

Modern aesthetic medicine focuses on working thoughtfully through all layers of the face:
• improving skin quality
• balancing muscle movement
• restoring structural support
• maintaining natural facial proportions

When treatments are done with a deep understanding of anatomy, the goal isn’t to change someone’s face — it’s to support it.

The result is subtle, balanced, and timeless.
A face that still looks like you, just well cared for.

Medicine evolves. Techniques evolve. Our understanding of the face continues to grow.

And minimally invasive treatments have finally found their right place — enhancing natural beauty, not overpowering it.

This shift toward anatomy-based, subtle, long-term results is something I believe in deeply.

Microneedling vs Halo laser — which one is better for your skin?

This is one of the most common questions I hear from patients.

The truth is, they’re not competing treatments.
They simply work in different ways to stimulate collagen and improve skin quality.

Microneedling creates tiny controlled micro-injuries that signal the skin to gradually build new collagen.
It’s great for prevention, skin health, and maintaining results over time with minimal downtime.

Halo laser is a more powerful treatment.
It uses controlled laser energy to remove damaged surface cells while stimulating collagen remodeling deeper in the dermis.

This makes it especially helpful for concerns like:

• sun damage
• pigmentation
• rough texture
• early skin laxity

So instead of asking “Which one is better?”
the better question is often:

What does your skin need right now?

For many patients, the strategy looks like this:

✨ Halo laser for correction — improving sun damage, texture, and deeper skin changes
✨ Microneedling for maintenance — keeping collagen active and skin healthy over time

Healthy skin usually isn’t one treatment.
It’s a long-term strategy that evolves with your skin.

Save this post if you’ve ever wondered whether microneedling or Halo laser might be right for you.

She is making the same “eee” expression in both pictures.

The difference between the before and after is Botox treatment used to improve lower facial asymmetry.

I just love the Botox magic 😊
In the before photo, one side of the mouth pulls downward more strongly. This happens because the depressor muscles on that side contract more forcefully.

The primary muscles involved were:

• Depressor anguli oris (DAO) – pulls the corners of the mouth down
• Depressor labii inferioris (DLI) – pulls the lower lip downward
• Platysma – contributes to downward pull of the lower face
Here one side is stronger and it creates visible asymmetry during animation.

Treatment performed:

• DAO injected on both sides
• DLI injected on the left side only (stronger side)
• Platysma injected on both sides with adjusted doses to balance pull

Botox temporarily softens the stronger muscles so they do not pull down as forcefully. By reducing that extra pull, we were able to improve symmetry without changing her natural smile.

In the after photo, she is making the same expression. The muscle pull is now balanced on both sides.

Lower face Botox can be very effective when dosing is customized based on muscle strength and anatomy.

Just because I’m feeling good 😊✨

Recently I’ve had the sweetest conversations with some of my patients — beautiful, successful, confident women in their 60s. And one thing they said has really stayed with me.

They told me, “Take today as the best version of you. One day you’ll be in your 70s looking back at photos from now and realize… there was no flaw. You were healthy. You were beautiful. You were in your prime.”

That really hit.

Time feels like it’s moving so fast lately. The years go by, the kids grow, seasons change… and somehow we’re still standing in front of the mirror thinking we need to fix one more thing.

How often do we miss these years because we’re comparing ourselves to someone else… or chasing a “perfect” version that doesn’t even exist?

She said, “Wear the dresses. Take the pictures. Feel the beauty you already have — inside and out.”

And honestly, as a 41- year-old woman, I feel that more than ever. What if this right now — this face, this body, this energy — is the very version we’ll one day look back on and wish we appreciated more?

So this is just a little reminder — to me and maybe to you too.

Appreciate the beauty you have right now.
This is you.
This is your season.

Time will change us. We will change.
And this is the reminder that we are best versions of us right now :)

So many patients come in saying,
“My brows feel heavy.”
“My eyes look tired.”

Botox around the eyes can absolutely help with that.

But this is where customization matters.

Not every eye should be treated the same.

In patients with fuller cheeks (like hers), it’s very easy to over-treat the lower lateral orbicularis and accidentally restrict cheek movement — creating that little “shelf” above the cheek that can make the under-eye look heavier instead of brighter.

So in her case:

• More superficial depth in the lower area
• Less toxin placed in the lower lateral eye
• Strategic focus higher and outward for lift

The goal?
Soften lines without restricting cheek movement.

Her smile is still fully hers — actually more pulled back and lifted.
Her eyes look more open.
She looks refreshed, not frozen.

Botox for crow’s feet isn’t just about wrinkles.
It’s about understanding how cheeks, brows, and eye muscles move together.

You should still look like you.
Just more rested. 🤍

I posted this on my stories yesterday about how it all started with one patient driving from Myrtle Beach… and how over time it turned into whole friend groups coming in together.

And then my patients started replying.

“Yup. That’s how you got my whole crew.”
“Sending over my aunt — I’ll tell you when she books ❤️.”
And so many more !!
Those were actual messages in my inbox.

It just made me smile so big.:) 😊

Because this really is how it usually happens. One woman comes in, we build trust, and then she brings her people. Her sister. Her best friend. Her aunt.

It’s such a simple thing, but it means a lot to me.

If you’ve ever referred someone to me or trusted me with your face, just know I don’t brush that off. I feel it. And I’m really grateful for it. 🤍 🤗

Your lips don’t need to be bigger.
They need to be balanced. 👀✨

Slide to see what subtle, strategic lip filler can actually do.

This isn’t about “duck lips.”
It’s about:

• Restoring hydration
• Improving lip shape
• Enhancing projection (without heaviness)
• Softening the lip border
• Creating harmony with the chin + profile

In this case, we focused on:
– Gentle upper lip support
– Slight projection for structure
– Maintaining natural movement
– Keeping her proportions aligned with her face

Notice how the after looks:
✔ Fuller
✔ More defined
✔ More youthful
✔ Still completely HER

That’s the goal every time.

If you’re thinking about lip filler in Chapel Hill / Raleigh and you’re nervous about looking overdone — this is exactly why a full-face assessment matters first.

Lips should fit your face. Not trends.
