✨Stretch of the Week✨

Soleus

The soleus is a deep calf muscle located underneath the larger gastrocnemius muscle. Unlike the gastrocnemius, the soleus primarily works when the knee is bent and plays a major role in walking, standing, balance, and endurance activities. Because it’s active almost constantly, it can become tight and fatigued easily.

✅ Benefits of a Soleus Stretch

1. Improves Ankle Mobility
2. Reduces Calf Tightness and Stiffness
3. Supports Achilles Tendon Health
4. Helps Relieve Foot and Heel Discomfort
5. Improves Walking, Balance, and Endurance
6. Prevents Injury
7. Promotes Circulation and Recovery

🧍‍♀️ Who May Benefit from Soleus Stretching?

1. Runners and Athletes
2. People Who Stand or Walk for Long Periods
3. People with Limited Ankle Mobility
4. People with Achilles Tightness or Heel Pain
5. Older Adults
6. Anyone Experiencing Deep Calf Tightness or Cramping

👉 In summary -- Soleus stretches improve ankle mobility, reduce calf and heel tightness, support Achilles health, improve balance and walking mechanics, and help prevent injuries. They’re especially beneficial for active individuals, people who stand often, and anyone with lower-leg or foot discomfort.

Stretch of the Week: Erector Spinae

The erector spinae is a group of muscles that runs along both sides of your spine, from the lower back up through the neck. These muscles help you stand upright, extend your back, maintain posture, and support spinal movement. Because they work constantly to stabilize the spine, they can easily become tight or fatigued.

Benefits of an Erector Spinae Stretch

Relieves Lower and Mid-Back Tension
Improves Spinal Flexibility and Mobility
Supports Better Posture
Reduces Muscle Fatigue
Helps Prevent Back Injuries
Promotes Relaxation and Stress Relief
Improves Circulation and Recovery

Who May Benefit from Erector Spinae Stretching?

People with Lower or Mid-Back Tightness
People Who Sit for Long Periods
Athletes & Active Individuals
People with Poor Posture
Older Adults
Individuals Recovering from Muscle Tightness or Mild Strain (with guidance)
Anyone Experiencing General Back Fatigue

In summary -- Erector spinae stretches help relieve back tension, improve spinal mobility, support posture, reduce fatigue, and help prevent injury. They’re beneficial for anyone dealing with back stiffness, prolonged sitting, physical labor, or repetitive movement.
