Happy to everyone! We are thrilled to announce the newest member of the UNC Midwives team, Cara Haire!

In 2008, she started out as a labor and delivery nurse, moving to the Triangle a few years after with her family. Upon graduation from midwifery school in 2019, she worked at Cape Fear Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC. Please join us in welcoming her to our team!

⬆️ We’re moving on up in Cary! See us at our new space in Suite 300 at Panther Creek starting today! Same location- just go up the main stairs to the “3rd floor” (which is the floor above the main entrance)! Centering Pregnancy will remain in the second floor conference room. Weaver crossing space is also the same in Chapel Hill. 🩵 The UNC Midwives are here for all your OB and routine GYN needs in Cary and Chapel Hill. Hope to see you all soon!

“I was SO honored to be inducted as a fellow in the American College of Nurse Midwives yesterday. It was made even more special by having my name read by my dear friend and classmate, Heather Bradford, and by my sister surprising me and joining Todd in my cheering section. I have been given so much by so many midwives, nurses, doctors, doulas, medical assistants and many others to get to this point. I have also had the love and support of the most amazing family who put up with all that this life has asked of me (and them). We have lots of work to do to support reproductive choice and access in this country. I am ready!”

May 6 is National Nurses Day! It launches National Nurses Week May 6-12.

We 🩵🩵🩵🩵 our nurses!! From L&D, postpartum, clinic, education, research and more, they work alongside us. The midwives, our patients and their families are better because of the work the nurses do. Our nurses are deeply valued and respected colleagues. One week is not enough to celebrate all you do. We want to scream from the rooftops how much we love you!

But truly, thank you. Thank you for answering questions, giving advice, holding hands when someone needs comfort, for cleaning up bodily fluids without complaint, for celebrating with families and mourning with them, for being fierce advocates and for listening to patients. Thanks for your dedication, intelligence, heart and soul.
