Please help our friends at !

Community Organizing for Racial Equity (CORE) is at risk of shutting down.

For those who don’t know CORE: they’ve led anti-racism trainings, healing circles, and deep equity work across North Carolina for years - with a special focus on faith based communities and rural areas. Their work creates space for truth, justice, difficult conversations and community repair.

But in today’s political climate, that work is being labeled “too controversial.” Funding has been paused. Staff have been let go. And now, CORE is fighting to stay open.

They need to raise $16,000 by June 15 to keep going.

If you believe in justice, not just as a value, but as action, please give what you can. Every donation helps.

Say hello to Kristin Tenney-Blackwell, our new mental health consultant, who will be supporting Telamon sites across Caswell, Chatham, Sampson, and Wake counties. Kristin brings a wealth of experience in mental health services, and we’re thrilled to have her join us as we continue working to support children and families in our community.

A little about Kristin:

Kristin Tenney-Blackwell, M.A., LLP, IMH-E, has been working with children, families and educators for over twenty years and is passionate about promoting the well-being of young children and the adults who care for them. In addition to her private practice, she has worked extensively with caregivers and educators helping to support young children’s social and emotional well-being, as well as efforts to prevent and respond to challenging behavior. Her portfolio includes work in national- and state-level early childhood education and mental health initiatives, in addition to coaching, reflective supervision, training, resource development, research, and evaluation of early childhood projects.

We had so much fun hosting our first ever Food for Thoughts gathering at the KidSCope Village, where families came together to learn about mindful eating, essential nutrients for mental health, and how to make a vibrant Caribbean coleslaw salad. 🌿🍴🥗 We wrapped up the evening with a delicious Caribbean-inspired dinner. 🍽️

The kids enjoyed playtime while families received Give & Gather Boxes—a take-home Thanksgiving kit with whole chicken/turkey, spices, veggies, and dessert to create their own festive magic at home. 🥘✨

A heartfelt thanks to Davida Julien, Nutrition Educator from NC Coop, for facilitating this wonderful event! 🌟
