Hands are often one of the first places where aging changes quietly appear, yet they are easy to overlook. For many patients, visible volume loss, uneven tone, and more prominent veins become noticeable concerns over time. Check out our blog for a review on why this happens and how we typically approach this concern.

Learn the causes of visible hand veins and all the options available for noninvasive treatment from board certified dermatologist Dr. Lisa Ishii.

Ever wondered about the difference between a needle and a cannula? It’s likely you’ll find us using both during your injectables session depending on the area and goal.

Needles are stiff, short and have a sharp tip. They allow for very precise placement, often along bone or more superficially in the skin. Needles are great for injecting small aliquots or thin strands of product.
Cannulas are long, flexible and blunt tipped, making them helpful for treating larger areas with fewer entry points. This is optimal for injecting longer strands of product. Cannuals are preferred in highly vascular areas for their ability to displace blood vessels rather than pass through them, in turn reducing bruising and vascular risk.

A full circle moment! In 2022, I began work as Principal Investigator for the Saypha filler clinical trial. Fast forward to 2025, I had the honor of visiting the manufacturing facility in Vienna and seeing the process firsthand. Now, it has officially made its way to the shelf!

It is always an honor to be recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. The 2026 Top Doctors list was released today, and I am truly grateful to be included.

With more than 1.1 million physicians in the United States, Castle Connolly recognizes just 7% as Top Doctors. This distinction is peer nominated and vetted by a physician led research team, meaning it has to be earned - not bought.

I am continually thankful to be able to do what I love. As my dad always said, “Make your vocation your avocation and you will never have to go to work.” How true that is.

Beautiful progress after one full face treatment and two focused sessions to the cheeks with the PicoSure Pro laser performed by Dr. Ishii.

This treatment improves tone, texture, and overall clarity by targeting pigment and stimulating collagen. We love this laser because its short picosecond pulses deliver powerful results without significant heat damage.

Subtle changes in skin tone and radiance can make a big impact, and we are loving this result!
