I have been practicing yoga since 1990 and received my 500 RYT in February, 2021. I am a scientist by training, and follow science backed methods of applying Yoga to improving health. My passion is to share the health benefits of Yoga Asana practice as well as to apply Yoga poses to the prevention and treatment of Osteoporosis. Strengthening your bones is a way to prevent bone loss as we age, as w

ell as to increase bone density in those with osteoporosis. Yoga practice works as well or better than the medicines used to reverse osteoporosis in the commonly fractured sites (spine, hip and femur). I teach the poses using props such a chairs, blocks and straps, to promote good alignment and strength for all bodies and abilities. The 12 poses are part of a science-backed routine to increase bone density in the spine, hip and femur. Primary reference:

Just back from another FitBodies Teach on the Beach vacation - Club Med Turkoise on Turks and Caicos. I taught two Yoga classes per day (morning energizing class and evening Yin Yoga). My classes had students ranging from other Yoga teachers to complete newcomers. It was so great to connect with such an international group of students, too!

I am beyond excited today! One of my Yoga for Strong Bones students reported that her Dexa score went from Osteoporosis to Osteopenia, since practicing the 12 poses designed by Dr Loren Fishman, MD!!! She and her doctor decided to postpone any pharmaceutical intervention. She supplements with weight lifting and a good diet.
This is why we are here. Keep up the great work!!!
