Big congratulations to Dr. Michael Fernandes de Almeida for receiving the Rebecca Clark Award for Moral Courage! 🎉

This award recognizes people who stand up for what’s right and lead with heart — and Dr. Almeida truly embodies that spirit every day.

He was celebrated on University Day (Oct 12) and will be recognized again at the Employee Forum Meeting on Nov 7. We’re so proud to celebrate his impact and leadership! 💙🐏

We are proud of Dr. Jonathan Schisler for presenting at the ACVP Annual Meeting 2025 in New Orleans, LA!

Dr. Schisler presented “CXCL5: Guardian of Vascular Health in Aging and Space – Protective Roles in Atherosclerosis, Reverse Cholesterol Transport, and Adaptive Space Biology,” as part of the Opening Plenary: Insights Into Aging – Explorations of Space Biomedicine, Systems Biology, and Animal Models session.

Congratulations to Dr. Schisler and the team for continuing to advance research on vascular health and space biology! 🚀🧬🩵🐏🐭👏👏

We are so proud of the amazing work by Becky Sanchez-Hodge, our Lab Manager here at the Schisler Lab and MHI Summer Research Coordinator!

Becky did an incredible job presenting at the Cape Cod Conference, where she shared her research on how exogenous CXCL5 delivery limits plaque formation in a CXCL5-haploinsufficient atherosclerosis model.

She also presented at the Pharmacology Retreat 2025, continuing to showcase the impactful research being done in our lab.

Congratulations to Becky and everyone who played a role in this important work!
