Polly Cooper, NSDAR proudly dedicated the America 250! Revolutionary War Patriot marker at the Monument of the Battle of Pines Bridge this afternoon. This site represents the service and sacrifice of the Rhode Island Regiment—one of the most diverse units of the Revolutionary War, composed of Caucasian, Black, and Native American soldiers. Together, they stood united in the cause of freedom. Their legacy reflects our national motto: E Pluribus Unum—Out of many, one.
We were also pleased to present the Town of Yorktown with the DAR America 250! Commendation Certificate and Medal for outstanding promotion and education of our Nation's Revolutionary history on a local level!

Also in attendance at the event where members of the White Plains and Mohegan chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution and also members of the John Jay Society of the Children of the American Revolution, the 5th Regiment, and Westchester Revolutionary 250!, John Hart Library and other organizations supporting education, learning and community outreach!

We are wrapping up , but for DAR members, every month is an opportunity volunteer. Already in 2026, DAR members have contributed more than 800,000 volunteer hours. We are proud that DAR is a founding partner of America Gives, an initiative of the America250 Commission inviting all Americans to honor the Semiquincentennial by making 2026 a record-setting Year of Service.

Thank you to our members for strengthening communities through meaningful outreach in historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Tell us how you are volunteering on a local level to honor America’s 250th Birthday.

In celebration of Month of the Military Child in April, the Polly Cooper Chapter proudly acknowledges the sacrifices and resilience of military children. These children demonstrate remarkable strength as they navigate frequent relocations and separations, supporting their serving parents. The theme 'Military Children and Youth: Strength in Every Story' for April 2026 highlights the everyday courage of military children, and we are honored to recognize their contributions.
