Six years ago, our administrator, Maria, lost her beloved husband, Dr. Steven Takacs, to ALS. What is ALS? It is a progressive disease in which a person’s brain loses connection with the muscles, slowly taking away their ability to walk, talk, eat and eventually breathe. There is still no real treatment or cure.
The ALS Association supports families by providing resources, tools, education, etc. Each year following the passing of Dr. Takacs, his family hosts a 5K Race honoring Dr. Takacs, whose wit, compassion and dedication to the community has touched so many lives.

This year, the staff at Kellis Eye & Laser Center is helping Maria and her family meet their goal to raise $25,000 for the ALS Association. Our staff donated items to create baskets to help raise money for this worthy cause. Baskets are located & displayed in the office lobby.
Tickets can be purchased in the office at the front desk, 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. Drawing will take place May 29th.
