We were honored to welcome Hector Zavala from Fellowship Bible Church for a beautiful live violin performance! 🎻 Our residents truly enjoyed the music, especially the crowd favorite “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”
A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Zavala for sharing his talent and bringing such joy to our community.

A big thank you to Sierra from the Charles Town Martins for the gorgeous flower donation!🌷
The flowers brought so much joy and color to our center, and our residents and staff couldn’t be more grateful!

A special thank you as well to our resident Patty and Activities Director Robin for helping pass out the flowers and delivering some to our sister center, Canterbury.

We had an egg-cellent time at our Easter Egg Hunt at Shenandoah Center! Residents, their families, and staff families all joined in the fun as children searched for over 450 colorful eggs hidden around our facility. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this special day so memorable! 🐣🌷💛

We are thrilled to share a wonderful success story! Tomorrow, one of our residents, Mr. Craig Wright, will be discharging from Shenandoah Center and he’s walking out the door on his own two feet.

When he first arrived, he was unable to walk due to a fainting episode and would experience episodes of blacking out. Through hard work and determination in therapy, he’s regained his strength and balance and he no longer has those episodes.

Mr. Craig wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Shenandoah Center, especially our dedicated therapy team for their support and encouragement every step of the way. He’s excited to return home to his dad, now able to walk with much better balance and confidence.

Congratulations on your amazing progress, Mr. Craig! 💙

🧠💜 The Power of Us. The Power of Now.

Lillian Reda, Genesis' National Director of Memory Support Clinical Practice and Education, recently attended the Alzheimer's Association Community Leaders Summit in Anaheim, CA.

This inspiring gathering brings together community leaders from across the country to share ideas, strengthen partnerships, and advance a collective vision of a world without Alzheimer’s and all other forms of dementia. The summit energizes participants to expand outreach, support, and impact in communities nationwide.

Reflecting on the experience, Lillian shared, “It was truly an impactful learning and networking experience. The ‘purple’ passion among attendees, the powerful personal stories shared, and the insights into the current momentum in care and treatment advancements were not only inspiring but absolutely energizing.”

Genesis is also proud to mark 17 years of participation as a National Team supporting Walk to End Alzheimer’s and Do What You Love to End ALZ, along with our continued efforts to expand access to education, support programs, advocacy, and research.
