Today our students showcased their research projects at the EIU Student Research and Creative Activity Conference! Most of their projects focused on a specific intervention approach for an individual client, with students gathering background information, reviewing related research, and developing research plans throughout the semester. The fall and spring clinicians for the individual client collaborated to complete their research. After months of hard work, our students presented them findings through poster presentations. Great job to everyone who presented!

We’ve been honored to host an incredible group of professionals from Jamaica in our department this week! Their visit is a part of a larger effort to improve services for Autism across Jamaica, with hopes of establishing Autism Centers and Autism-friendly classrooms.

This group includes representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Mico Care Centre, special education instructors, early intervention leaders, and even members from the Prime Minister’s Office for Special Projects.

We’re so great full for their opportunity to learn from each other and to be a part of their journey.
