🌟A huge congratulations to Kelly Flodin as he is the well-deserved recipient of Cochlear Americas HearO of the Year award! 🌟
Cochlear’s Engagement Manager, Genevieve Spiliopoulos, took these wonderful pictures, one is presenting the honor to Kelly at our MUSC spring picnic and the others are proudly displayed at Cochlear Americas headquarters in Colorado, in the Cochlear Experience Center, where Kelly’s story continues to inspire countless visitors.

Award Nomination from Genevieve: Kelly Flodin – Exemplary Volunteer Hearo Award Nominee 3 years of service.
Introduction: It is with great enthusiasm that I nominate Kelly for recognition as an outstanding volunteer for his exceptional dedication and unwavering commitment to promoting cochlear implant technology. Kelly’s contributions to our organization and the broader community are truly remarkable, demonstrating his passion for helping others and his invaluable support in advancing awareness and education about Cochlear’s solutions.
Dedication and Impact: Kelly has consistently set a high standard for volunteerism, embodying the spirit of selflessness and service. He has made it his personal mission to ensure that as many people as possible are informed about cochlear implant technology. His dedication is evident through his unwavering participation in all of my virtual events, where he openly shares his personal experiences and insights. Kelly’s authenticity and willingness to connect with others create a lasting impact on those exploring cochlear solutions.
Kelly’s influence extends beyond his own engagements. He is a respected figure within his local music community, and his accolades add a unique perspective to his volunteer work. His willingness to collaborate with any engagement manager throughout CAM showcases his adaptability and eagerness to support wherever he is needed. Kelly's proactive approach is highlighted by his openness to sharing his contact information with other engagement managers without the need for prior approval—demonstrating his trust and dedication to our mission.
Conclusion: Kelly’s contributions as a volunteer go far beyond expectations. His ability to connect with individuals, share his story, and act as a bridge between candidates and our solutions is invaluable. His proactive nature and genuine desire to help others make him a true asset to our organization. It is with the utmost respect and admiration that I put forth Kelly’s name for this well-deserved recognition, knowing that his impact will continue to resonate within our volunteer community for years to come.
Thank you for considering Kelly for this honor. His commitment and exceptional efforts are a testament to the power of volunteerism and the difference one dedicated individual can make.

MUSC is so proud of you, Kelly! Thank you for being an inspiration to us all and changing what’s possible! Go Kelly!!

Exciting news! Join us on Tuesday, August 12th from 7-8 pm ET for a special “Back to School” webinar focused on how to talk to teachers about hearing loss and classroom accommodations.

We enjoyed spring day yesterday! ☀️ 🌺 😎 The kids made oreo dirt for a snack, rain makers for a craft, and learned all about the sounds of spring! Today, we wrapped up the week with a snowball fight and visit from author, Kallyn Long, and meteorologists David Williams and Sonya Stevens, and a surprise from Pelicans snowballs!! 🍧 We had the best week at Camp Communication and are so grateful for all of our campers, volunteers, and staff for making this a memorable one and changing what’s possible!
