🌟 SLP Spotlight 🌟
This National Speech-Language-Hearing Month, we are celebrating the incredible work of the speech-language pathologists on our Hometown team - starting with Sarah!
Sarah has such a special way of engaging and connecting with the children she works with. She has the biggest heart - and we truly love working alongside her! In fact, we can often hear the laughter of little ones coming from her room while they're working, learning, and playing! 💙
We’re grateful for the joy, patience, and expertise she brings to every session.
Here’s a little more from Sarah in her own words:
💬 Why I became an SLP:
“I wanted to become a speech language pathologist in order to help people. Whether that meant helping them regain cognitive functioning after a stroke, helping a child communicate their wants and needs either verbally or through AAC, helping people learn to swallow safely, and so much more. I wanted to be able to give people the tools they need to improve their quality of life, whatever that looks like.”
💬 What I love about my job:
“I love that every day is different. I love that I get to be a part of the little victories of the families that I work with. Some victories look like a child saying a ‘b’ sound for the first time, being able to swallow pureed baby food for the first time, or saying their own name on their AAC device. These little victories are huge. I love that I get to be a part of it!”
Join us in celebrating Sarah and the meaningful impact she makes every single day! 💙✨
