M3 Wake Research Charleston

M3 Wake Research Charleston M3 Wake Research Charleston specializes in conducting clinical research studies.

We are currently recruiting volunteers within the Charleston area for several ongoing studies. Study volunteers help us to gather important information in the development of future treatments that might manage, cure, or even prevent diseases. If you are selected to join one of our studies, you will have continuous medical supervision for the entire time you are using the study medication or treatment. All examinations, tests, and medications or treatments are provided to you at no cost. Check out our current studies here:

Think of a clinical trial like preparing a big holiday gathering: there’s planning, coordination, clear roles, safety checks, and keeping everyone informed and supported. Just as a successful dinner needs teamwork, every clinical trial depends on careful design, oversight, and communication. And when things flow smoothly, everyone feels respected and taken care of.

Wake Up With Wake means showing up energized, connected, and ready to celebrate the wins together.

Throughout 2025, one GIF became a go to way our teams marked milestones, shared excitement, and lifted each other up.

Whether we were celebrating a study launch, hitting enrollment milestones, welcoming new team members, or cheering each other on, this GIF showed up again and again. And honestly, that feels pretty fitting.

Because at M3 Wake Research, wins are shared. Progress happens through collaboration. And success is something we celebrate together.

Here’s to the moments big and small that made 2025 worth celebrating, and to the teams who made them happen.

Let’s address one common myth related to clinical trials.

Myth: Participation in clinical trials is expensive.
Fact: Most trials cover participant costs like medical procedures related to the condition being studied, travel, and sometimes compensation for time. Insurance is not required for the research portion of care.

Knowledge helps remove fear. Ask questions. Understand your rights. Research is built on trust.

As the holidays approach, gatherings and travel increase—but so does flu and COVID risk. Protecting yourself and loved ones starts with prevention: vaccines, hand hygiene, and staying home when sick.

We are currently enrolling participants in compensated flu and COVID-19 vaccine studies that aim to strengthen community immunity, as health is a communal concern, especially during the season of togetherness.

We're excited to share a heartwarming moment from within our M3 Wake Research community. Our colleague, Shivani, was recently surprised with a beautifully crafted book titled Shivani Spirit, imagined and brought to life by Amanda.

What began as a few lighthearted stories to brighten Shivani's tougher days grew into a full book featuring 75 adventures starring Shivani and her Alaskan Malamute, Neo. The result is a meaningful reminder of the compassion, creativity, and care that make our team truly one of a kind.

Amanda's thoughtfulness and talent transformed a simple idea into something unforgettable. Her ability to capture Shivani and Neo's energy, humor, and resilience on every page reflects the spirit of connection that strengthens our organization.

We're grateful for Shivani, whose strength inspires us daily, and for Amanda, whose creativity and kindness brought this beautiful gift to life.

Flu season is in full swing, and this week is a reminder of how important it is to protect yourself and your community.

Here are a few key facts about influenza to help raise awareness:

✔️ The flu leads to millions of illnesses each year in the United States.
✔️ Older adults, young children, pregnant people, and those with chronic conditions have a higher risk of complications.
✔️ Vaccination reduces the risk of severe illness and hospitalization.
✔️ Even healthy adults can spread the flu before symptoms appear.
✔️ Annual vaccination is recommended because dominant flu strains change over time.

Staying informed and taking preventive steps helps protect the people around us, especially those at higher risk.

It is International Volunteer Day! Join us in celebrating the people who give their time, care, and compassion to support others in their communities.

Volunteers make a real impact on people who need it most. Their commitment to service reflects the heart of every community focused on care, connection, and support.

At M3 Wake Research, we believe in giving back. Our Volunteer Time Off benefit empowers employees to support the causes they care about during the workday. It is one way we show that service does not end at the clinic. It continues in the communities where we live and work.

Thank you to every volunteer who continues to make a difference for others.

Today is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
This day is a reminder of the importance of accessibility, inclusion, and representation in every part of healthcare, including clinical research.

People with disabilities often face barriers when accessing care, participating in studies, or receiving essential resources. Improving accessibility means:

✔️ Clear communication and simplified instructions
✔️ Accessible facilities and digital tools
✔️ Inclusive study criteria when medically appropriate
✔️ Respectful, patient centered interactions
✔️ Opportunities for participation without added burden

When clinical research reflects the people it serves, the entire healthcare system becomes stronger and more equitable.

Living with Crohn’s or colitis means navigating much more than symptoms. It can involve chronic fatigue, dietary adjustments, emotional stress, and the uncertainty that comes with flare-ups. This week, we honor everyone living with IBD, the caregivers who support them, and the researchers working toward better treatments and care pathways. These conditions touch nearly every part of daily life and often require long-term, comprehensive care.

Raising awareness helps increase understanding, reduce stigma, and support earlier diagnosis and improved treatment options.

A few important facts about IBD:
✔️ More than 3 million adults in the United States live with IBD
✔️ Symptoms may include abdominal pain, fatigue, weight loss, and persistent diarrhea
✔️ IBD is a chronic condition with periods of flare-ups and remission
✔️ Treatments focus on reducing inflammation and improving quality of life
✔️ Ongoing research continues to explore new therapies and stronger disease management strategies

Supporting patients with knowledge, empathy, and access to care makes a meaningful difference.

You’re seen, valued, and not alone.
