Diversity in Clinical Trials

Minorities have low rates of participation in clinical trials. This is a concern because people of different ages, races, and ethnicities, may react differently to medical products.

Drugs to watch for 2022:

mRNA trials (this technology has been around a long time, see the picture for all currently used drugs on the market since 2016 in the U.S.)

Ulcerative Colitis drugs

Covid-19 vaccine studies

Alzheimer's Disease

Cystic fibrosis (one company has held the market in 4 drugs they have for this disease-Abbvie is currently studying a drug that could finally be better than these options)

Cancers like breast cancer and lymphoma

Schizophrenia (notoriously it is hard to develop drugs that work for mental illnesses so definitely watching this)

RSV in kids

Why Clinical Research?

While most studies have placebo arms (you don't get active study medication), there are benefits to participation.

Being in a study is free of cost to the participant and many times compensation for time/travel is included depending on qualifying to participate.

In some cases, patients have tried all available treatment options and a new option is the only option left for them. The study drug may be more effective than any other treatment on the market.

Research staff is available to spend dedicated time with their patients, allowing time for understanding and explanation. Because safety is the most important thing, participants receive careful medical attention.

You may be one of the first to benefit from a new product.

By participating, volunteers help science improve the quality of life for future generations. Even if a study drug doesn't end up getting approved, the data collected is valuable to help determine other new treatment options.

Cologuard / Colonoscopy study

We are looking for patients:

55 and older who have NEVER had a colonoscopy

Compensation is provided for those qualified-no insurance needed

One visit with us at Pharmacorp and then a colonoscopy at your scheduling within 90 days

No insurance? No problem, we can get the cost covered for you

Send people over! This test is so important to check for cancer, especially as we age. The study is looking at making the Cologuard test BETTER; maybe one day this will help to decrease the amount of colonoscopies we need to do! Why not get compensated if you need one done? Merry Christmas!
