Kids facing cancer go through more than most of us can imagine. Treatments can be intense, and the long-term effects often stay with them for life.

Patients at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital got a surprise visit from Spiderman, Batman, and Captain America thanks to Critical Care Comics, a volunteer-run group that brings superheroes to hospitals.

Kids learned how to strike a superhero pose, played outside, and even got to hold Captain America’s shield. These visits offer a fun break for children going through tough medical journeys.
