For more than 25 years, Respite Care Charleston has provided support and services to those living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. RCC provides caregiver support, education and resources; half-day respite care for those with mid- to late-stage dementia; and programs for those with early-stage dementia / mild cognitive impairment. We're committed to improving the quality of life for those with dementia and their caregivers, helping families age in place, and serving all families in need - regardless of financial challenges. All regular RCC staff are Certified Dementia Practitioners, and volunteers are a vital part of what makes our programs so special. For more information on our programs and services, or for any other dementia-related questions, give us a call, send us a DM or visit our website! CAREGIVER SUPPORT
RCC facilitates nine+ support groups each month, with varied locations and times to meet the needs of a diverse array of caregivers. These open group meetings offer caregivers a safe and confidential place to laugh and cry, to share experiences and problem-solve challenging behaviors, to learn about and prepare for the journey ahead, to connect with community resources, and to give and receive encouragement and support. Caregivers are also encouraged to take advantage of other free supports, including library of books and other resources, one-on-one guidance and troubleshooting, educational workshops, and dementia-friendly events where caregivers and their loved ones spend time with other Respite families in the community. HALF-DAY RESPITE CARE
