Join world champion powerlifter and strength coach Brogan Williams & Doctor of Chiropractic Stephen Redmon as they discuss evidence based chiropractic and sport science through the lens of movement, strength, performance and overall health.

Also, let’s congratulate Dr. Redmon as he has obtained the postgraduate designation of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® (CCSp®) by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™ (ACBSP™). The CCSP® certification requires the doctor to attend a minimum of 100 hours of a 120 hour postgraduate program. This instruction is specific to physical fitness and the evaluation and treatment of injuries encountered in sports. Following completion of these hours, the doctor must then take successfully pass a comprehensive written
examination.

This training will aid the doctor in the prevention and treatment of athletic injuries by enhancing his diagnostic skills and patient care. CCSp® certification exists to provide a uniform standard of education that assures teams and athletes that the doctor has met a minimum level of competency in chiropractic sports medicine. Dr. Redmon joins over 5500 others internationally who hold this designation.

Happy Black History Month!

Dr. Fred Rubel, a 1913 graduate of the National School of Chiropractic, was the first certified black chiropractor. In 1914, a mere year after his graduation, he founded the Rubel College of Chiropractic. This was not only the first school in the field to freely accept anyone regardless of race, but it was also one of the first degree-granting institutions to do so. With a heavily African American student population that was rather unique for the time, the college was founded on a message of equal treatment and racial empowerment through knowledge. When asked about his motivations for founding the college, he said that they were “realizing that any race of people, if it must succeed, should be trained in all professions.”
